No one call "sell" their soul because no one's soul belongs to them, all souls belong to God.

Men can try to sell their soul, but God just laughs and hands them over to their own wicked delusions. They are His do do whatsoever He pleases with them.

Ezekiel 18

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

That said: because men do not own their souls, they are still able to receive Grace from God and thus spiritual life and forgiveness of all their sin. Jesus Christ can and does save men that thought they had "sold their souls" every single day.

You are talking about ther afterlife, I am talking about here and now. James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammet did something like a ritual I think to give them success in this world. This is just speculation I really hope they did not do it.

Basically, everyone who is now famous has. The studio or the record companies take the lion's share of the profits and in exchange they give you fame.

I met James in 99 and he was very sweet. I took him around town in my Mustang convertible to see places where the locals go in my town. I am a tour guide. I didn't know who he was when I met him and didn't listen to Metallica. I played him Lucinda Williams and he liked it. His friend/manager slept in the back seat. It was a night -time tour.

I had had a really negative impression of Metallica until I met him. Very smart guy. And no I didn't ....
