Hi I am rh- type b. Didn't know until I got pregnant and almost died but I always knew I was different. I've had lots of pschic experiences and it often drives people away from me. It's nice to know I'm not the only one. Although I don't know where my ancestors orignated from I have almost all of the characteristics of an rh neg person...but what does it all really mean?

If the parents are both neg and the child is there is rarely problems

If the mother is neg and the child neg, no issues

If the mother is neg and the child positive

it sets up an antigen response(allergic reaction) and basically the body attacks the invader...

additional pregnancies can cause major issues unless the mother has a Rhogam(gammaglobulin blah blah blah)injection within a set time frame following birth to avoid complications in additional PG

Blue bloods
Copper based more than + blooded people, metabolise O2 less effectively

Blue babies-from crossing blood lines(MIXING BLOOD,(+) and (-) and having stillborn or low O2

differing metabolism
low temp, low BP etc

other things alot of info out there about it

Its only not entirely true ....
the mother will only generate antibodies if the blood of the fetus mixes with that of the mother, placentas do not transmit blood of the fetus to the mother nor vice versa.
Only when the watersack breaches or the placenta breaches there can be a mix of those .
Mother and fetus have two seperate vascular systems that operate completely independant from one and other. The farthest a fetus's blood goes while still inside the mother is to the placenta where it gets nutrients from the mother whos blood transports those nutrients to the placenta.
So unless you take a fall, the pregnancy was of high risk or the body of the mother being especially feeble/weak.

There is little to no chance at all that fetus and mothers blood mix inside the womb, only when an accident happens like taking a hard fall, drug abuse ..etc.

Rhogam is administered when the mother is suspected not fit enough to carry through the pregancy without complications.

And you CAN say you don't want the shot to be pre emptively administered these days ...

Yes, you can opt to refused the RhoGAM shot. They will tell you lots of scary things but you can read about people who choose to go both directions on sites like [link to www.RhNegativeRegistry.com.] There are some people who will only choose to mate with another RH-Negative person to completely by pass the need for this blood product injection. The is RISK in both choices of taking or not taking it if your mate is Rh+ or Rh+/-, both to your health and/or the baby.

I had to go a bit lol there for I know people personaly that told me that they only want a child with someone of their own rhesus type, I have a hard time imagining their first date where at some point the question pops up " what is your rhesus factor ?" actually gives me a bit of a giggle each time I think of it.
I happened to fell in love with someone whoms rhesus factor isn't compatable to mine but never thought that be a good / bad reason to have or to not to have children with him.
Tho choosing a partner who has your rhesus factor is non the less the most effective way to bypass all those complications taht -can- occur.
