Revelations: Self-fullfilling prophecy?
If millions of people believe the "end times" is going to happen, how will it be possible to avoid it?

The bible would seem to be the blueprint of our destruction. Perhaps the only way to avoid it, to work out our silly problems, is to put it aside as was done for the many other quaint mythologies of the old world.

Feel free to discuss...

You're onto something there, Mephes. If enough people believe this will come true, then the reality gets created. However, I don't think we'll reach the Armageddon scenario the elite have planned. Too many people are on to the games they're playing and it's time for many of the truths to go public. Their exposure is almost to the point of critical mass in public consciousness.

Bye bye bad boys!

Re: Revelations: Self-fullfilling prophecy?
Some may not believe that God can speak to people...do I hear an audible voice? NO!!!
That being said, I was shown that Revelations IS the script or SCRIPTure...God HAS persevered it, just NOT how the fundamentals believe....He has shown us both sides of the conflict in the same book, even though it has been "messed" with....

I saw Revelations, but not as we have been taught!!! It was man made and much faster....Like the MOAB destruction of the old testament vs. the MOAB (Mother Of All Bombs) that was dropped repeatedly in Irag.... and the Shekinah Glory vs the Shock and Awe bombing in the beginning of the war...

Take Revelations SERIOUSLY!!! it has been played over and over repeatably in our ancient history...

Modern tech. has just changed it a little, but the same script is there for those that "have eyes to see!"

The Almighty is still in charge though, will allow us to do this to each other! Mercy, love, truth, will reign in the end though!!!

I just hope this IS the LAST time!!!

Didn't SEE that part!

You're just listening the wrong way, at the wrong places...

He speaks through existence itself, through significant events in your daily life. He is an order, a wisdom, that speaks by itself, and that is beyond this realm. Your hears, they are just hearing whatever stimuli that gets to you... but it does'nt mean that what you hear is really what you "hear".

Yo! Let's not get distracted here.

There's really only one important thing in the bible:

DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU.

Okay, two important things. The other is:

YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW

Got it? You may now close your bible and put it away. No more arguing about whose land is whose, who's going to inherit the earth, who's going to heaven or hell, who should change their beliefs, who created the universe...

Aren't you glad it's all settled now?

Mephes,

I would tend to agree. I almost used to think that reading the scriptures daily was soooo important. Since I found a book explaining what John meant in the Revelation he wrote, I now believe that scriptures are just a crutch for us weak humans to lean on.

The book says over and over again that all that is important is what you said above:

Do Unto Others As You Would Want Them To Do Unto You.

Find what your happiness is for YOU without infringing on the happiness of others.

It is the most amazing book---I am no longer afraid of the "end times" or "getting the mark of the beast" like I was. I have been set free.

The book can be read for free from the internet. It's at this site:

Re: Revelations: Self-fullfilling prophecy?
People don't seem to want to work out our "silly" problems. Too many people have an "as long as it isn't happening to me, then I don't care" attitude. Too many people don't learn the lessons of history. Too many people are content as long as they keep getting their bread and circuses.

Human beings have always been dangerous and destructive, but now we finally have the technology to be able to completely exterminate ourselves; now we have the technology to enable the few to easily enslave the many. Throw human nature into the mix with all its greed, apathy, and selfishness, and you have a combination that screams "end of the world".

I don't believe the Bible is a blueprint of our destruction, but a blueprint of how we will be saved from self-destruction. If we could save ourselves and turn this world into a utopia on our own, we would've already done it by now.

The end is not going to go down like most people think, even the vast majority of professing Christians will find themselves "riding the beast".
