A letter from an angry soldier... from Craig's list. Says it all about this illegal war in Iraq. | |

I still think it would have been amusing to have reinstated Saddam and had him get that place back under control! He'd have his thugs out working the streets. He'd have that place cleaned up in a day. With a reduction in population no less! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 221937so what are you saying? stories like this are completely fabricated? are you that out of touch with what's going on in the world? do you understand that moveon.org is pushing for a positive change in this country? moveon is the type of organization i thought the people who post here would be in support of. so why is this thread BS again? Because the vast majority of the troops support what they are doing. This letter is BS. Moveon.org is backed by the american communist party and other anti us organizations. Look it up dip shit. Well, now, since you are obviously an expert AND a soldier to have such sure info, perhaps you would be so bold as to comment a bit more on your experienceces there hero, yes? Please, do tell????? |

Says it all about this illegal war in Iraq. The major war front is the home front. If you dont know that the US govt spends a sizable percentage of your taz dollars to brainwash you, co-opt you or scare you, then you dont know nothing what this war has become... In that context it is perfectly legitimate to fight the battles everwhere the war is being fought -- especially in the work place and in the schools, And unite with disaffected and fucked up vets, to de-program them (they are a most convincing when they are commited to the cause). And keep them away from the war mongers who will distract them and silence them... And dont wait for return mails from your reps to be anything more than a waste of time. And dont expect the internet to persuade enough to be effective. Get out there and fight!!! Those who insist to those who support the war that they should go to Iraq and fight... Why would they do that? They are fighting it on the home front, and SO SHOULD YOU!!! |

Says it all about this illegal war in Iraq. quote:Anonymous Coward 221937 Because the vast majority of the troops support what they are doing. ---------------------- Why don't you go to youtube and watch video after video of veterns of the Iraq war that are now speaking out as part of vetern organizations that want the war to be STOPPED NOW. Just because you don't have the images and the soliders words beaten into your head via FOXnews, CNN, MSNBC, ETC...does not mean that the troops are not becoming fed up. The "vast majority" are indoctrinated to embrace the war mentality via their military training. So, they are pro-war by design...but when they get there and experience the reality of what is going on in Iraq, many are finding that their conscience can not supress the fact that this is not a noble or just war. They do not even know who the enemy is that they are fighting. They are unclear on this term insurgents...it is a title for a vague enemy that is fighting with IED's to get the occupiers (US troops)out of their country. Take the time to listen to their words. Take the time to find out how many Iraqi civilians they have killed in the name of fightings this war against...WMD's?...Saddam?...Terrorism?...what was the reason we are there again? The evil Saddam is dead. So even if they need to fight it out among themselves to figure out who and how their country will be ruled, what business is it of ours to inject ourselves into their civil war? Did a foreign country have any place in our own Civil War? of course not. I am a conservative that votes republican most of the time, you might expect me to be a flag waving, yellow ribbon wearing war lover...nope, this war is BS! I have had to be intellectually honest and open my eyes to the reality of this war...the troops that have served in Iraq are trying to tell us the truth...I respect them for serving and believe that the best way to honor them for that service is to listen to what they have to say about their experiences, take them seriously and stop supporting the war just because it is the "patriotic" thing to do. |

In fact, lets put it this way, we'll continue the war on this basis only, those that think we should be there can go there to fight, and those that think we should not be there get to go home right now.... How long do you think the War would last under those curcumstances..... We're about to suffer a military defeat, which is just about the worst thing that can happen to our country... All those chickenhawks, like Bush and Cheney, and the rest of them, who got out of combat service, because they were connected, could care less about what happens.. Because after it's all over, even if we loose, it will absolutley have no consequence to them or the millions they have in the bank....they'll just pick up their golf clubs and play another round at the country club... |

This war has gone from looking for W.M.D to now building walls to keep Iraqis apart. 1 Objective after another has not been achieved, and sheople still think a war like this is worth fighting for even 4 years after mission accomplished(where are the Iraqi W.M.D?) was declared. Take the hint when Bush said mission accomplished and declare a victory, that way the troops can come home heroes and not look like the failures they are. They did not fail because of their efforts, but because they were told to fight a enemy which did not attack them on 9/11, they attacked a nation which did not pose a military threat to the U.S nation and they were told they were bringing liberation and freedom, while conducting serge after serge, were building walls and fortified (green)zones and were constantly expanding prisons, military bases and torture chambers. |

Congress voted to authorize the President to act, they have voted funds to prosecute the war, and if they want it to end all they have to do is vote to defund the war and it ends. This world cannot continue the way it is, we either change ( and i mean everybody) or we cease to exist as a race..It's your choice...me, i vote change. Peace is the only way. |

Says it all about this illegal war in Iraq. I really think that most troops in Iraq believe that they are there to help the people and their country. The majority of people are good at heart and well meaning. There are always a few bad apples in every bunch, but most people are kind. But this doesn't mean that the people at the top who are in charge are good and well meaning, because power tends to bring out the worst in us humans. A truly unselfish, kind and benevolent "politician" is a rarity. So let's not take this out on the troops, even if there are some bad apples in the bunch. In large part the troops follow orders and personally try to be the best they can be in the situation that they have been put into. So the issue here is not really about the troops, but about the people in power, about the few who pull the strings. |

Says it all about this illegal war in Iraq. This letter was written by a Moveon.org supporter. You have to be insane. |

In flagrant violation of international law, and subject to war crimes -- As in all who voted for war, but probably limited to the administration. Care to tell us what is illegal about that? |
