'Beginning of the End' !!!North Atlantic Right Whales
The North Atlantic right whale is one of the rarest marine mammals in the world, and right now, their prospects are not looking promising. Approximately 450 of them are left in the wild, and there were 16 reported whale deaths in this species during the summer of 2017 — a record number for a six-month-period — according to the NOAA statement.

Sad really, don’t think Fuku has anything to do with it. Probably shifting ocean patterns, sonar disruption and poaching. How about the extinction of the northern white rhino. Really sad what us humans do to nature.

If it is due to shifting ocean patterns then why can we not relocate the whales and make them an endangered species, so no one can kill them or fish them out before they can build their species back up?

Whales travel the entire breadth, width and span of the ocean for mating and hunting reasons.

They do this in cycles and tend to stick to similar patterns, like oceanliners. LOL

Changes in conditions in these circuits, such as electromagnetic disturbance, weather/wind patterns as well as other predatory sea life, like sharks, dolphins or other kinds of whales, can contribute to mass beachings.

It's also how guided whale watching tours know when to book these events.

You cannot relocate a whale. LOL

Mass beaching is more often than not a result of a spooked or confused group of caravaning hunters and is a "thing" they seem to do when this happens.

Scientists don't really understand this phenomenon but it can be, in more singular events, a result of illness or injury to the animal.

In the cases of more than a few, they speculate the highly social and group dynamic plays a role.

Mass beaching however is usually the result of spooked or confused groups, similar to birds in that regard.

Very few of these events result in the animals reaching the shore, as there is an area called, whale fall that is just off the shore in certain places where dead and dying whales end up sinking and provide huge amounts of the right conditions for flourishing ecosystems of varied species.

The circle of life.

The largest recorded event of mass beaching occurred in 1902 when over 1000 whales did this.

There are records of these events having taken place prior to official reporting all through antiquity, including painting and local stories.

The OP equating Northern Atlantic Right whales with anything to do with Fukushima radiation on the other side of the Pacific Ocean is ridiculous.

Unfortunately, placing a whale species on the Endangered list doesn't provide any sort of protection against them beaching themselves as there is no way to foresee such events and they often do this at night.
I didn't mean to do that...or did I?
