Whose fear is mounting? They said days ago a bigger eruption could happen, vog could happen (it happens normally anyway), they've already told people to leave nearby areas. The more populated, resort areas are like 80 miles away, and most of the state lives on a different island altogether. Unless it severely affects airplane routes in and out of Honolulu, which it isn't doing, it's not that big of a deal.

It's not the same kind of volcano as like a Mt. Pinatubo (largest or second largest eruption in the last century, depending on source). So it can put out ash, but it won't be as disruptive as Pinatubo nor will it cause a volcanic winter or anything like that,
