You are assuming that our push to save as many people as possible from an impending global disaster has anything to do with small farms, small business, the ability to cut firewood, etc, etc. That is current minutiae and frankly not part of a future big picture viewpoint involving survival of the species human. Those current small picture issues (at least to us) are on an elected (or unelected, depending on which country you live in) local or national level. You also assume that we are completely United States centric. We are not.

You also assume that we control things we honestly don’t care about. If parents are not willing to help educate their children, we cannot help you no matter where you live. You are worried about fluoride, aspartame, mercury, vaccines, hormones, etc, etc??? I am worried about the survival of the human species from a near extinction event. I should not write this, but since the GLP population is relatively low and information dissemination is rather limited I will: You have fallen victim to one of our most basic ploys. I understand what you are saying and why you are upset – but you are worried about hormones in your food when what I am saying is as follows: THERE WILL BE NO FOOD. At any price. With or without hormones. THERE WILL BE NO “WATER SUPPLY”. Not as you know it. Clean, drinkable, and that will not kill you, fluoride be damned. THERE WILL BE NO DIET SOFT DRINKS. There will be no need for a diet. I could go on and on. Do you not understand the gravity of the situation??? Have I been posting in the wrong place? People are not turned into ‘useless eaters’, just like people are not turned ‘lazy’. They choose it. Think of it as a test. You have apparently passed that portion of the test, now think about the math section my friend. You are confusing the mid-terms with the final exam.

Yes, we have known for decades what is coming down the pike. Our mathematical models of what you propose indignantly tends to mirror someone yelling ‘fire’ in a crowded movie theatre rather than the hope of mankind. I’m not going to pretend to be ‘benevolent’. All I am saying is that with the information we had, have, and the situation at hand – we really had only once choice. Resources are finite. You assume pricing is an accurate reflection of the resource amount. It is not. Everything is manipulated. Those types of things are done to concentrate resources in as short a period of time as possible. The same with the stock market. You do not really think that your .com stock was ever worth $200 a share, did you? I doubt it, but many people did. Thanks to them, we could concentrate even more REAL resources with paper.

People are not going to be ruthlessly culled – nature will do that for us. We are going to protect as many as we can.

We actually govern very little, we just know which strings to pull. So the bit we do govern (with your so called ‘elected’ leaders) tends to have great weight. We are also setting ourselves up to completely govern IF and only IF things work out for the worst. Preparing for catastrophe is NOT treason. We are not overturning the government. We only prepare. If things work out the way we have calculated, THERE WILL BE NO GOVERNMENT THAT IS RECOGNIZABLE TO OVERTURN. The stakes are that high.

Remember, we try and only ‘redirect’ catastrophes that were going to happen regardless. Anything beyond that is not your decision to make. We took the responsibility because no one else could or would. That makes it ours. The voting public, if left to their own devices have proven time and time again that they would destroy humanity in order sit in front of the television for one more night. NO MORE. WE HAVE PUT OUR FOOT DOWN. There is no choice in the matter. My burden is mine alone to bear. Sympathy is nice, but not requested. It is done. I am writing this for me, not for others (except where there is honest knowledge seeking). I am afraid that you consider this a debate where the outcome can change or that ‘being morally right’ has something to do with the outcome. The decision is ours and ours alone. It has nothing to do with luck. The poor Jews were right and look where it got them. They should have exterminated the Nazis with whatever help they could have gotten when they had the chance and did not. They were “right”. But in the end, so what. We operate on the modified axiom “Reason and Might make Right”. So, both sides are used. By us. For our ends and goals. It just so happens that the overriding goal is the survival of humanity.
