What war? Did we declare war?

All's I remember is Bush on a boat with a MISSION ACCOMPLISHED banner. Then we executed the country's legitimate leader named Saddaam and commandeered his oil industry.

Re: Has the Iraq war ended? Dont hear much anymore-Just Ron Paul and Mexicans
he said Mission Accomplished to major combat operations
making it sound like "the war/battle was over"which was misleading

Bush reiterated his "Mission Accomplished" statement to the troops at Camp As Sayliyah on June 5, 2003 — about a month after the aircraft carrier incident: "America sent you on a mission to remove a grave threat and to liberate an oppressed people, and that mission has been accomplished."[7]

For critics of the war, the photo-op became a symbol of the administration's unrealistic goals and perceptions of the conflict. Anti-war activists questioned the integrity and realism of George W. Bush's "Major combat" statement. The banner came to symbolize the irony of the President giving a victory speech only a few weeks after the beginning of a relatively long war. Many in the administration came to regret the slogan. Karl Rove later stated "I wish the banner [had] not [been] up there."[8]

In a less publicized incident, Rumsfeld also declared an end to major combat operations in Afghanistan on May 1, a few hours before President Bush's announcement.[

The Media are crying over Wolfowitz,Gonzalez,Bolton Falwell on and on while Bush hides from the truth in his bubble and even now is trying to stop a pay raise for those that are dying for his blunder.

Make no mistake they are not dying to protect this country. They are brave people doing what they are told to do---by civilian leaders who are a bunch of.......plus filling their pockets with $$$.

Why are they putting up a mini-city in the Green Zone to house people if they leaving that place.

Wont come to helicopters full with people lifting off the embassy roof but sooner or later our people will have to pull back and then................

The Bush compliant media are ignoring the ever higher stack of dead U.S. warriors that are piling up, as well as the ever increasing chaos and mayhem that is engulfing the country formally known as Iraq. The Pakis are trying to kick us out of Pakistan, the Iraqis have voted to kick us out of Iraq. George Bush and the Bush compliant media have cooked the United States' Goose in more ways than one.

P.S. Thank-you filthy Zionists for your coercive support in this grave matter.

BUTCH:

Yeah, that's what I remember, too.

Wait, let me look it up...

Hey, I was right! We never DECLARED war against Iraq.

Holy cow!

As for the wounded and dead...I blame the Bush Junta for every life that has been lost in this NEOCON quest for oil domination.
"Until you are willing to organize your friends and neighbors and literally shut down cities - drive at 5mph through the streets of major cities on the freeway and stop commerce, refuse to show up for work, refuse to borrow and spend more than you make, show up in Washington DC with a million of your neighbors and literally shut down The Capitol you WILL be bent over the table on a daily basis." Karl Denninger

Don't blame me; I voted for Ron Paul.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED is not the same thing as THE WAR IS OVER. It means that particular mission was accomplished, not the War is Won. I am really surprised how far away from basic lingusitic understanding that whole issue has become.

BTW, Sadman Insand had not been executed yet when that mission accomplished was stated, only that he had been captured, which was the mission that was accomplished.

Of course this was not a Congressionally Declared War, if it had been there would have been 1,000,000 US boots on Iraqi soil throughout the war until Victory Over Iraq had been declared.
