Magnets make brain grow - TMS
We had a lengthy discussion on pineal and magnets, we had a thread about magnetic moods from an article on bipolar people in MRI's.

On the 26 new scientist article we find in mice magnetic coils make the brain create new neural connections, imagine the implications here???? They are speculating on degenerative brains like Alzheimers, but I wonder how it would work on anyone:

Magnets may make the brain grow stronger

COULD magnets make the mind grow stronger? In mice at least, stimulating the brain with a magnetic coil appears to promote the growth of new neurons in areas associated with learning and memory. If the effect is confirmed in humans, it might open up new ways of treating age-related memory decline and diseases like Alzheimer's.

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has been used experimentally to treat a range of brain disorders, including depression and schizophrenia, and to rehabilitate people after a stroke. TMS uses a magnetic coil to induce electric fields in the brain tissue - activating or deactivating groups of neurons, although the exact mechanism has remained unknown. One theory was that it aided learning and memory by strengthening brain circuits through a process called long-term potentiation (LTP).

Re: Magnets make brain grow - TMS
Memories are made of this?
Brain cells generated during adulthood may play a greater role in memory formation than previously thought.

New cells are generated in at least two areas of the brain throughout life. Researchers had speculated that they could be involved in the formation of new memories, but until recently there was little evidence to support this.

Now Hongjun Song at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, and his colleagues have shown that young adult-grown neurons display similar properties to neurons in the developing nervous system - potentially providing a mechanism by which new neurons could integrate into existing brain circuits and modify them.

The team labelled dividing cells in the hippocampi of mice, and then measured how easily they were activated in response to an electrical stimulus at different ages. Cells aged between 1 and 1.5 months were easier to activate and displayed a greater degree of activation than younger or older cells (Neuron, vol 54, p 559).

"It indicates that adult neurogenesis continuously provides a pool of highly excitable and flexible neurons, facilitating the formation of new connections within the adult brain," says Josef Bischofberger, a neuroscientist at the University of Freiburg in Germany. "At the same time, maturation will slowly 'cool down' the new cells, making them reliable units for stable representation and storage of the newly learned memories."

Song believes the new cells may modify existing networks, helping them incorporate new information and adapt to changing conditions, such as disease.

This ties into sleep function to, gonna have to show my wife...LOL!

Remember that sleep is controlled by the Pineal gland, and the endocrine system, which is the connector to within/without, above/below, east/west, oneness and all that jazz:

Deep sleep a magnetic zap away

An electrical device that zaps the brain to induce deep sleep may some day give a whole new meaning to the term "power nap."

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have discovered they can artificially stimulate the production of slow brain waves that characterize the deepest form of sleep.

For the study, the researchers used a transcranial magnetic stimulation device on a group of sleeping volunteers. When placed on top of the head, the instrument sends a painless and apparently harmless magnetic signal through the skull and into the brain.

Eight years ago, I flew to Laurentian University in Midwestern Canada to test a gadget that some journalists called the "God machine." The device consisted of computer-controlled solenoids that fit over the skull and stimulate the brain with electromagnetic pulses. Its inventor, neuroscientist Michael Persinger, claimed that it could induce mystical experiences, including, as Wired magazine put it, visions of "Jesus, the Virgin Mary, Mohammed, the Sky Spirit."

and:

Magic Wands

Transcranial magnetic stimulation, or TMS, is noninvasive and hence safer and easier to test than implants. Researchers have reported success in treating depression and other disorders with this method, which often employs electromagnetic "wands" as well as headsets. Persinger insists that TMS, properly used, can also induce intense mystical experiences.

1902:

Pollacsek and Beer in Vienna, Australia file a patent for treating depression by using an electromagnetic coil placed over the skull to pass vibrations into the skull.
These early innovations represent the historical structures that have shaped today’s modern version of rTMS but did not permit high intensity or frequency usage.

I agree, this is the future, we are going to see how this plays into light therapy, into magnetic stimulation, vibrational healing, rewiring of neural nets to aid in recovering memories or to heal all manner of being, I have seen google articles on TMS associated with MS,depression, obesity, sleep disorders, alzhiemers, manic, parkinsons, cancer, you damn well name it.

WOW, this was not so available even last year, I know I studied heavily on the web for everything and anthigh Pineal gland related. I am awed.

Re: Magnets make brain grow - TMS
sounds a bit dodgy.

I mean great if all i have to do is place magnetic coils near my head to increase my IQ but i don't think it works that way.
No point in growing new neural path ways if they dont know what to connect to or were to go.

But seriously you can create new neural pathways by reading books, or by visualizing new things, or listening to the radio, but definitely not by watching tv or so ive heard, because tv renders the images for you.

I suspect theres other ways to make new path ways, such as learning an instrument or a new language or any new skill for that matter.

For Alzheimers i seriously doubt its actual degeneration of the brain, its just the fact that you cant make the chemical needed to produce new memory's, and so you access your existing memory's less because you life stagnates or you spend your time thinking of past memory's.

ICF has been here a long time talking at length this very subject. he should be awed....I am.

Thanks for the thread ICF. I've been trying to sleep better to improve my moods. I will try anything to improve my mind and memory!

This is indeed interesting. Wish I had something constructive to contribute, but the fact remains all things seem to be tied to the Pineal Gland.

One more thing, if this guy put on the "God Hat" do you think the coils were stimulating the temporal lobe which is a known area in the brain for visions?

Have a lot of reading to do on this subject.

Hi guys/gals,

This is the stuff that shakes the foundation of convention, seeing novelty abound in life and on the web is why I surf the waves of conscious thought, looking to regain that which was lost to me durign my incarnation.

This resonates loudly within my soul, what can we do to stimulate the pineal gland into recieving and transmitting multidimensionality?

We grow ever closer to tuning our collective to the God particle, that mysterious connector of all, I am disinfranchised with science funding that puts to rest such promising theories such as Dr. Cramers on retrocausality, but it will be done, if it by thy will...all knowedge is being revealed at this time, that is why I find Ron Paul such an awesome experiement, telling the truth on a national politcal stage, watching as the groundswell moves minds and breaks bonds that would bind.

This is the stuff on John Pineal, he returns.

He never left, we just are waking up to what is going on...thank you for your everblessing gift of self.

Peace on the river.

A name that has appeared to me whilst studing this topic is Paracelsus, a doctor who of course was an occultist, typical labelling of anything wanting to bury...

Therapeutic use of magnetic waves can be found in most ancient cultures. Physicians, such as Hippocrates and Paracelsus used magnetic fields for therapeutic purposes. More recently, Japanese doctor, Dr. Nakagawa, in his paper (1) states that under modern living conditions the earth's magnetic field has deteriorated 50% in the last 1000 years contributing to the body's deficiency of magnetic force. (1). Magnetic Field therapy has been widely applied in European countries since the 1960's (2,3). Some 250 clinics in Europe and a few in Canada currently employ PMFT. Although most of the published scientific research has been conducted in Europe, there is now a proliferation of research on this subject in North America. In the early 1990's Dr. D.H. Trock M.D. of Yale University conducted studies on the use of PMFT as an approach to treating arthritis. He found that this therapy significantly took away pain and improved function in the majority of patients studied (4,5).

Years ago we had a cool thread about the Bloruf(sp?) article about DNA can be changed by words and in it there was great debate upon which we found to our ashtonishment that DNA is electric by nature. alas, that thread was lost but the influence reverberated, we are indeed hard-wired for God.

This is why this information is so important as it brings us ever closer to understanding the full import of our bodies, how we can navigate, in retrocausality forward and backward in a timeless sea of novelty.
