I have helped deball a number of pigs in my life and my dad has cooked these things up at the house, but I could never bring myself to eat it. Perhaps if I was starving to death and had no choice, I might indulge. Dad sliced them thin, breaded them and pan fried. A friend of mine came over one day, when I was much younger, and he saw them on the table, all fried up golden and started digging into the pile of hog nuts on the table. He thought they were delicious until he was told what they were. LOL |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 239124 06/16/2007 01:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, I've from the big easy and I've had mountain oysters before. They don't have any salt taste at all and they are a little more chewy that the oysters we are accustomed to enjoying but you do have to chew them a little. |

| Babe in a Bunker User ID: 231070 06/16/2007 02:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah. I did once with my redneck relatives. They didn't tell me what they were until after I ate a bunch. Before the testicle revelation, I thought they were pretty good, kinda like calamari/chicken. Then, they became evil and vile. Well it seems so real I can see it And it seems so real I can feel it And it seems so real I can taste it And it seems so real I can hear it So why can't I touch it? So why can't I touch it? However : As I recall from my various "adventures" in North America, . . . a "Mountain Oyster Eating Contest" [SIC] has taken place at regular intervals in the southwestern United States. TEXAS, USA, as I recall. ~ Campbell Randt :WhoDares: _______________________________________ 'What’s past is never past. Quoting: OP 170894______________________________________ My APOLOGIES -- IN Advance -- for this comment; . . . but to share with you my Very FIRST thought upon reading the above-quoted sentence, . . . IF my friend MO were still a MODERATOR, . . . THEN she might have an overwhelming urge to BAN someone who posted That Question in That Manner. And moreover, . . . were I in her shoes, . . . I couldn't blame her for NOT appreciating the PERSONAL Insult ! Fortunately, however, MO DOES have a very keen and good sense of HUMOUR ! Quite seriously, MO's someone whose comments I very much miss round here. ~ Campbell Randt :WhoDares: P.S.: And who says people of my "kind" don't have a sense of humour . . . ? ______________________________________ 'What’s past is never past.
