Why do humans only have significant amounts of hair on their head, armpits, and pubic area?

That's just it, they're "significant", so that's why they're there. I think a better question is, why do we have an appendix?

There have been several more recent stories about this in the news as well.

Caffeine would be a good reason for smelly armpits. If a person was to eat only fruits and vegetables and cut out caffeine, there would be no smell.

As for hair in certain places, it's for protection. There must be geneticists back there.

The appendix is used to filter viruses, but science hasn't figured out this (and a lot of other things) yet. A better question is: why do men have mammary glands in their breasts? (Well the answer is because we used to be a single species, integrated male female, until we were separated by genetic engineering).

The hair eventually got lost where it wasn't needed any longer.

The genital area, I would imagine, is still at risk.

I have pondered this too... what is hair doing under my armpits? What purpose does that serve? And why do we get such pretty hair that never stops growing on our heads, but all the other hairs stop at a certain length? Like fur? And why the hell is it curly. Animal's fur isn't curly.

No wonder my gf likes the smell of my pits.
