I would say it was volcanic activity....... although I'm not sure what feature you are refering to specifically.

Pan up one more time and again there is a hexagonal blue crater...

I believe that Hoagland thinks Arcturus crater is a Helium-3 reactor...so it's a nice coincedence to find hexagonal structures/craters near by...

Wow! That seems to add credence to a ground reflection deal rather than a cam deal.

Here's an Apollo 15 recon of the area, looks like the largest mass of glassy stuff

I think that bright spot is at the South (?) pole of the moon, sort of the "naval". And yeh, I have noticed that this was interesting for some time. And it looks like a perfectly round artificial shape in many of the "craters". I get a lot of flack when I put stuff like this on my local forum.

Glassy reflection of melted surface after nuclear explosions?

Um...I dunno.

That's weird, tho. Is it reflecting light, or is the light coming from within?

Hoagland is the poster child for pareidolia. I sat through
one of his 6 hour lectures where he tried to convince us
that there are 20 mile high glass structures on the Moon and
that the Apollo astronauts flew through them when they landed.

Looks to me like another crater and that the camera isn't
showing a perfect image of it.

Re: Moon: anybody know what this is?Quote

More questions from the top of my head:

A. Back in the 70s we heard whispers of some kind of immense "Klingon" ship in orbit around the moon, in fact as I recall Clarke's tale, "Rendezvous with Rama", although not of the lunar theme might have been a takeoff on the moon rumor.

B. There are also the hollow moon theories floating around.

C. Later in the past few years we heard of a second moon around earth and then I think it said that it left orbit.

Anyone else on all this?

I'll go search Google see what kind of info gurgles up.

More Moons Around Earth? Its Not So Loony
Earth has a second moon, of sorts, and could have many others, according to three astronomers who did calculations to describe orbital motions at gravitational balance points in space that temporarily pull asteroids into bizarre orbits near our planet.

The 3-mile-wide (5-km) satellite, which takes 770 years to complete a horseshoe-shaped orbit around Earth, is called Cruithne and will remain in a suspended state around Earth for at least 5,000 years.

Cruithne, discovered in 1986, and then found in 1997 to have a highly eccentric orbit, cannot be seen by the naked eye, but scientists working at Queen Mary and Westfield College in London were intrigued enough with its peregrinations to come up with mathematical models to describe its path.

Cruihne [pretty weird looking if this is it]

Much uncertainty surrounds the mysterious object, designated J002E3. It could be a passing chunk of rock captured by the Earth's gravity, or it could be a discarded rocket casing coming back to our region of space.

Corkscrew Asteroid

06.09.2006

A tiny asteroid looping around Earth for the past seven years is about to leave the neighborhood.

"2003 YN107 arrived in 1999," says Paul Chodas of NASA's Near Earth Object Program at JPL, "and it's been corkscrewing around Earth ever since." Because the asteroid is so small and poses no threat, it has attracted little public attention. But Chodas and other experts have been monitoring it. "It's a very curious object," he says.

This is one of the Carpetbagger moons that comes into our solar system then does an orbital dance with earth then leaves, a mind-blower

One source calls it an earth-moon,
[link to www.space.com]
another says it's co-orbital with earth.
