BRIEF User ID: 39607259 United States 05/26/2019 05:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | We all fear the unknown...but since I know what happens after death, I just hope I get in a lot of years first...never know when you will get squished... I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75582539 Switzerland 05/26/2019 05:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I believe in heaven, in Christ. That we are here for some reason. That there is life after death. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77631973 But I have a very hard time accepting that this life is temporary, that my children will grow up, that I will grow old, that change is constant and one day I will breath my last. I live in a constant state of fear, so much that I cannot enjoy life most of the time, worried something might happen, a car accident, a plane crash, a heart attack or some other disease. I have been aware of my mortality for as long as I can remember, was a deep thinker at a very young age. I can’t imagine not being with my loved ones. I wish I could stop time, I feel every second as it passes by. Anyone else feel like this? Thread: Death and the Life Beyond |

Study/Explore the Near-Death Experience literature and deeply contemplate the implications... Claiming beliefs in 'heaven' does not do anything to expand your state of awareness so that you may come to realize yourself as existing as something which supersedes the physical identity and body... It is only that change in your state of awareness that will enable you to shed your fear of physical death... This is something you gradually work towards and does not happen overnight... |

We're all going to die. I suppose the best thing you can do is focus on life while you can. Let death wait until it's your time. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 76586757 United States 05/26/2019 05:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's anxiety. I have had to live with bad anxiety my whole life. I was the kid who always cried on Santa's lap with pictures to prove it. I will pray that you receive some relief from it, but it always pops back up at times. It is nice to know that we can continue on after death. Thank you God for your gift of eternal life for those who love the things you love. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 76917967 United States 05/26/2019 05:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't get that. It's comforting to me. You actually cannot even think about experiencing 'nothingness' because you must be conscious to think about or imagine anything - and if you are conscious, you certainly aren't 'nothingness'... Therefore how likely do you really think it is that the outcome of your physical death is something that you literally cannot even think about or imagine without directly negating it? The comfort that you feel/experience when trying to think about 'nothing' is not due to there being any reality to what you are imagining - but due to practice of influencing your state of consciousness to temporarily disconnect from all of its regular/prior identifications (which will be limiting)... So what you likely experience is a 'freeing/liberating' feeling as a result... This may be a helpful practice for the reason that it's important to relinquish limiting beliefs, attachments, and identifications... But if you're expecting your consciousness (conscious energy) to be extinguished or to cease to exist after physical death - well then you're in for a pleasant surprise.... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75801611 United States 05/26/2019 05:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | And what does that mean exactly. People say this, but what does it mean? You must be baptized by the Holy Spirit, and no one but God Himself can do that for you. It means coming to the end of yourself, and your plans, and your goals, and all the things you think you know about anything. Then the Bible becomes the LIVING Word of God. You will scoop your jaw off the floor when you see the Word playing out in your life. There is no formula for this, saying the sinners prayer sure isn't gonna do it. It happens when you get serious and desperate, at least for me it did. |
