LogDog User ID: 213297 United States 07/01/2007 02:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A nice little high pressure system is just about to settle in on all the western states over the next week. Temps well into the triple digits for the Fourth of July. On my forecast tonight, I didn't go 100 here until Friday, but regardless, it's gonna be hot and dry. Not good news for the droughts. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 247092 Russia 07/01/2007 07:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is a heatwave discussion not that BS anymore. Many in here appreciate my forecasts. If you do not, simply do not reply. Simple as 1-2-3... Quoting: Kevin Martin 256751You mean that BS you used to create elaborate prediction maps for? Something must've forced you to the dark side, so I have no interest in a government sell-out meteorologist. |

Kevin Martin User ID: 256751 United States 07/01/2007 08:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Again, It is not my care or concern if you have no interest in my forecasts. You think i'm going to cry mommy and run away screaming because YOU don't. Others do appreciate it, and that is all that matters. This heatwave will be dangerous to all of Central California as well. This is terrible. Any message you reply back negative will be ignored from now on. Now that you know that I don't give a damn what you think of me, maybe you'll shut up. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2993 United States 07/01/2007 11:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | thanks Kevin. I live in the southwest though not in the areas you mentioned. We have been hot lately though that is not unusual. Keep posting, you have been spot on so far. There are people in these areas who cannot afford to run the AC 24/7(which is what we have to do now) this isnt just summer fun dudes. In Phoenix recently and many low income homes have evaportative coolers, except now Phoenix is so humid those coolers dont do crap but make your house hot and muggy. 125 degrees......!!!! um yes but of course that a happy summer temp....sheesh you guys |

midnight oil User ID: 254537 United States 07/02/2007 12:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Astral, no, it's most def not. The heatwave is going to be significant, reaching the Central Valley with maybe 115 degrees in spots, and Big Bear Lake, at 7,000 Feet, maybe 100. This is the OWS forecast, and I think it will be nailed. Quoting: Kevin Martin 256751and..? so it gets into the single digits in Colorado and minus 50 or some crap in Alaska in the winter. The Persian gulf has more than likely got you beat at about a 140 degree heat index. Yes, the heat index is real if you ever been somewhere with lots of heat and high humidity .. drip drip sweat.. drip drip sweat.... Kevin Martin User ID: 256751 United States 07/02/2007 02:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks to all that understand what kind of a warning this is. You see, it's common, HOWEVER the high pressure will have a seriously HOT layer of air at 5,000 to 10,000 Feet. This will no doubt make temperatures at Big Bear Lake near 100 degrees. Record is 94 or 95. This could break it. This is what I mean by RECORD HEATWAVE. Sure not all records will be met or over, but some will. Thanks Kevin |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 250880 United States 07/02/2007 04:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | G-E-T a G-R-I-P on yourself!!! When I was a teenager,in the state of Kansas the temperature was YES 118 degrees in the shade!!! I hit the beach and was one sorry person, I spent the next week in the air conditioning. Duncan Kunz User ID: 8107 United States 07/02/2007 02:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes these temps are going to be deadly. Why wouldn't I mention them?! I mean come on, It may be normal to some, but I think a warning is better than none. Vacation plans, etc. It may be normal for the people that live in these areas, but not to the people traveling. This is what OWS does, and why we issue the warnings. Heat warnings going up for Low and High Deserts, INCLUDING Hemet, AND Woodland Hills.
