Dangers of Brainwave Entrainment

Agnes User ID: 260148 7/2/2007 12:09 AM Report abusive post | Dangers of Brainwave Entrainment
| Quote |
I want to share a horrific experience that should serve as a warning to anyone using or considering using binaural beat brainwave entrainment.
I overdid it with a program called I-Doser, for hours at a time, days on end. I ended up the other night with convulsions that are still keep coming back. I am still tripping. My pupils are still dialated. I was unable to control the projections from my subconscious (those images and thoughts you see and get while falling asleep) for some time. I keep getting these terrible rushes through my nervous system, and it's not relenting. I am experiencing tremors, sleep disturbances, exhaustion, inability to sleep, mood swings, scattered mind, auditory distortions, hypnogogic hallucinations, and sheer terror. I was extremely scared that I would die.
I issued a warning to the I-Doser forum and it was deleted. I posted another warning and soon after it too was deleted and I was banned. This, needless to point out, is highly suspect. I am still not sure what will happen to my brain and body, if there will be permanent damage, and if I will ever feel quite right again. |

Agnes User ID: 260148 (OP) 7/2/2007 12:35 AM | | Re: Dangers of Brainwave Entrainment | Quote | The technology is binaural beat induced brainwave entrainment. I-Doser is the product that has made me so sick. I was stupid to want to use it, because it attempts to emulate the effects of drugs. I know I was stupid, abused it, and I am ashamed. There were no clear warnings of possible long-term side effects. I had no idea that this could happen. Online, people chirpily promote entrainment as if it were the absolute best and safest thing in the world. I finally found a few reports of adverse effects. Some people experienced symptoms like my own. If you do want to pray for me, you are welcome. I am very desperate and afraid. My body is still convulsing involuntarily and I don't understand what is causing it. It's not like taking real drugs. It programs your brain to recreate those states and I really did myself in by programming too much and the WRONG combination. Please don't use this technology. |

There's nothing wrong with any holosync, hemisync, bi-audio brainwave enhancement.
You can overdo drinking and start vomiting blood.
This doesn't mean we shouldn't drink a glass or two of red wine every few days. |

I think the problem may lay somewhere else.
Have another think about it. |

They respond to different things than you or I. Maybe your brainwaves, if tuned to a certain frequency, attract them. At any rate, I have been attracting them for several years, and am familiar with the "terror" they bring. My opinion so far is that it is just a sensation, like all others. Relax and experience it. |

Anarchy 101 (The SHTF option): Select a suitable product of repulsive quality. Shit works the best in most cases. Product must first be stirred and agitated to a sufficient consistency to assure firm and maximum adherence. A generous amount of product is then scooped up and tossed in the general direction of your launching implement of choice, whereupon extreme fun and mayhem ensues.

He said it could achieve in minutes what otherwise would take years of meditation. Btw I made some binaural beat sound files using Mathematica, is anyone interested in hearing? |

Yes, "Agnes", if you've really opened a door, all you can do now is face your fears and go with it. Fear is a drug as well... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 260193 7/2/2007 4:21 AM | | Re: Dangers of Brainwave Entrainment | Quote | The OP should be posting a warning about absolute stupidity.
There is nothing unsafe about brainwave entrainment, just like there's nothing unsafe about consuming small amounts of sugar.
Because having too much of anything can be harmful to you.
This is more about the stupidity of the OP, rather than the brainwave programs themselves.

Agnes User ID: 260318 7/2/2007 10:47 AM | | Re: Dangers of Brainwave Entrainment | Quote | Listen. This happened because I overdid very strong stimulant "dose" files for days, NOT just because I used brainwave entrainment.
Absolute stupidity is RIGHT. I was absolutely stupid in how I abused this technology.
I am NOT promoting entrainment programs. That is the furthest thing from my mind.
I slept it off again but now I am still getting chattery teeth and tense jaw, trembling/convulsing in my legs, shakiness, weakness, slight mental confusion, dialated pupils and rushes like those from drugs running up my spine which WOULD be euphoric but because my brain and body are depleted are horrific.
I didn't come back on yesterday because I seriously did go lie down to sleep. |

Agnes User ID: 260394 7/2/2007 2:21 PM | | Re: Dangers of Brainwave Entrainment | Quote | Does anyone know what actually causes these convulsions to continue for so long? What causes the rushes? The dilated pupils? Please help. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2268 7/2/2007 2:31 PM | | Re: Dangers of Brainwave Entrainment | Quote | the worst thing you can do is worry about what it has done.
just accept the fact it 'may' have done something and get on with your life the best you can. |
|
Agnes User ID: 260394 7/2/2007 2:35 PM | | Re: Dangers of Brainwave Entrainment | Quote | It's been four days since the onset of the overdose symptoms. I am far too drained to swim or walk. When I do I get over stimulated, full of energy, then the rushes start again, the convulsions, and weakness and exhaustion take over. |
