When the US gets the sniffles economically, the world gets sick, if yellowstone blows, its a global reset. Most of the worlds bread basket would get wiped out and only a fraction of it would recover once the dust settled and the sun started shining again. The famine alone globally would be devastating. And it aint the rich that take the hit, it's us peasants, the rich just use the calamity to consolidate power.

USA has moved to a service ecomony a fair amount of time ago.. IF USA stopped existing, most of the world wouldn't even notice for quite some time.

Now this is real doom!

Sadly the Canadian is right.

Except for airplanes the US today provides little to the world that couldn't be quickly (3 to 5 years) replaced by others.

Agricultural products ... which involve virtually NO high tech, are our main export anymore, but any place with growing land can produce those so the US is nothing special other than it can currently produce those basic commodities at a somewhat lower cost than some other countries.

NO US ag exports? Prices would go up and producers from around the world seeing money to be made would jump into producing MORE of the crops that the US USED to provide, and it would NOT take them long to ramp up that production. (again 3 to 5 years)

The US is the worlds GREATEST CONSUMER. Producer for export? Not so much anymore.

It could. The change in magma flow can change the magnetosphere and could effect the Geyser...

My guess is it's real damn hot down there and that's the cause of the eruptions...
