Buy ibuprofen it's an anti-inflammatory and eat more natural food that have those in them. curezone.com is a nice website. The baking soda thing did not work for me it just tasted nasty. Organic apple cider vinegar has helped me a little.

Drink more water(12 glasses a day). Lower your fat intake. Eat more fiber (fruit, multi grain bread, fresh vegetables)

Gout is actually caused by eating too many processed and cured meats. The sulphites used form painful crystals in the lower extremities. They build up and when they hit a certain point, your body reacts the way it does.

Stop eating cured meats, for one. (Bacon, salami, bologna, etc)

Drink a glass of cherry or cranberry juice daily to avoid future episodes. Stay away from red meats and alcohol. Some vegetables like asparagus are also high in purines which can cause an attack.

Lay down on an ant hill. Their bites might hurt but something in their sting helps with gout. I heard that somewhere but never had a reason to test it out.

alcohol is very bad, you need to go on a cleansing diet as if you had cancer, just google cancer diets, get a juicer and start doing a lot of veggies that way
if you are overweight, that isn't going to help

I had a case of gout last year. I think it was from the sushi party I went to - way too much protein at once.

After suffering for 2 days I went to the health food store and bought a bottle of condensed tart cherry juice. I mixed up and drank the whole thing in one day. I spent most of that day running to the toilet, but the gout was gone.

I have felt it coming on twice since then and went to the cherry juice and never got a full blown case. I now eat a few dried cherries every day.

I think it was also aggravated by the diuretic blood pressure pills my doctor prescribed. I stopped taking them.

BTW, ibuprofen didn't help at all.

We vegetarians rarely get gout.

It's all you fat, greasy old people who have stuffed your faces with lotsa' beef, pork and red wine all your lives, and now you are paying for it with severe pain.

I get an occasional attack from time to time. I am not fat, greasy or old. I am tall and muscular, and once in a while I like to go out looking for a self righteous,pompous ass little vegan to pound into a fine powder.

Time to go vegan or light.

Light means 90% raw with grilled fish and chicken occassionally. No cheese, dairy, sausages, meats esp cured. NO SALT. No corn syrup. No MSG. No dyes, no chemicals.

Organic, clean, fresh, alive living foods. You body stops producing youthful hormones in the 30's. You can make up for those with digestive enzymes, fresh juices, and salads and fruit.

You might also try taking garlic out of your diet. I saw an article about the toxicity of garlic on rense.com and read it. I then did stop any garlic, which is in many things, from soup to salad dressings. My dizzy headaches that I had had for about 3 years finally stopped. There were other benefits, such as my feet stopped swelling during the day. The powder form for me is the worst. It desynchronizes your right and left brain. According to the article, pilots can't take garlic for 72 hours before they fly because their response time is lowered. Hope this helps.

my dad had this problem. he practically lived off of fish. it was the main staple of his diet. Salmon, Sardines and Mackerel. STOP eating fish. it it full of Uric acid which is the main cause of Gout. If you give up fish you will feel a lot better.

I've been a vegetarian for over 25 years--since age 10--I'm 6 ft tall and very muscular.

At 36, my cholesterol is 140, my heart rate is 65 bpm and I have normal blood pressure.

I'm not anemic or pale either.

Eating a vegetarian diet takes work because you need to know how to combine the right kinds of foods for the maximum vitamin/protein content.

But the payoff is a cleaner, leaner running system without the need for a 'pill' or quarterly heart bypass after age 50,lol!

Eating healthy takes work and sacrifice, but the beneficial long-term effects on your health make it well worth the effort.
