A police spokesman said they did not believe extremists were behind the threats, but refused to disclose their precise nature.
"Police in Hertfordshire have launched a criminal investigation following a series of threats made to 14 Tesco stores across the country that occurred today," Hertfordshire Police said in a statement.
"Police were alerted immediately and have liaised with Tesco throughout the day. Public safety has been of paramount importance to all involved.
"No-one has been injured and Tesco plan to open their stores as soon as possible today or tomorrow. While the public are advised to remain vigilant we have no reason to believe that the incidents are linked to extremism of any kind."
"The constabulary has taken the investigation forward as Tesco has its head office in Hertfordshire. Every effort is being made to trace those involved."
A spokeswoman for Tesco said: "Tesco is working with the police following a series of incidents.

Tesco, the world's third-biggest retailer, is based in Hertfordshire, north of London.
Stores in England, Scotland and Wales were cordoned off earlier Saturday and staff sent home for the day.
Supermarket giant Tesco accounts for one third of the total grocery market in Britain -- equal to the combined sales of its two nearest rivals, Wal-Mart unit Asda and Sainsbury's.
Tesco is the world's third-biggest retailer behind US-based Wal-Mart and French supermarket chain Carrefour.

Twelve guys from Israel's Kidon unit are going to target NYC (department stores, Broadway, other locae) with high explosives and possibly a mini-nuke and make it look like al Qaeda terrorists with "Iranian links" are responsible.
I know these guys are involved: Shmuel Harriman, Yitzhak Frenkel, Menahem Vitman, Don Palder, Ari Itzkovich, Jay "Crow" Stimpson, Michael Panchet, Don Lineweaver, and Yocheved Gilman-Katz. I don't know the names of the three other guys.
The way I was told, it's supposed to be "a dry run" to test warning systems, and this has secretly been given the go-ahead by Chertoff.

My point being (I don't believe you were an officer there) that the agency would have had to Approve what you posted before hand. WHICH MEANS THAT THIS WOULD BE CLASSIFIED AS "DISSINFORMATION"!!!!!!!!

You must be new here. Don't you know this is Doom Central?
If you want to know when you can expect to be nuked, asteroided, tsunamied, or rounded up and thrown in a concentration camp, this is the place to be. And the reason the doom dates always pass without incident is due to what we call the GLP-effect, IOW if it's posted here it won't happen (it could be because the warning was crap, or it could be because the evil plot was thwarted due to the word spreading far and wide). |

It (7/18) is not one of those famous occult numerological dates they always use: 3/11, 7/11, 9/11.
There would have to be an 11 in it, or the month and day add up to an 11, or the entire date adds up to 11.
Plus, the day is always an odd number.

I have no way of knowing if the threat is credible, but I do know that publicising it before it happens decreases the likelyhood that it will, and that the names listed are real terrorists working with Israeli MOSSAD, a known terrorist organization that has attacked America in the past. |
