Was very strange - Just now, this afternoon, station after station on my TV started to black out, then all of a sudden came that strange grinding "blaaat" you hear with the emergency broadcast system. The TV then turned to blue screen with the Emergency Broadcast System printed on it. The weird thing was the banner going across the screen said it was going to be tested starting at 2:37 until 6:27 tonight......Never saw it say that, before. Then the announcer said the usual "if this had been an actual emergency, it would have been followed by", etc. Then the cable went back on and normal broadcasting is now back.
Isn't it strange that the test is ongoing until 6:27 tonight?? Something must be going on..... |

I had a real weird one last week. All channels went to EAS greenscreen and instructed to go to channel 44 Weather Channel. On Weather Channel it was issuing a missing child alert for all the surrounding counties for a period of one hour. No details on who was missing or what to look for.
My guess is that somebody at EAS was new on the job or something. |

The weirdness is that cable blipped off. I've seen the EAS a lot, too, but not with that happening. Then cable came back on when the blue screen went away. Plus there was that banner going across the TV stating that the test would start at 2:27 and last until 6:27. I never saw that before. |

Here's a prediction.
Next Wednesday, they'll be ANOTHER strange test of the Emergency Broadcast System.
There will be this wierd ERNT ERNT ERNT noise, the show you're watching will get kicked off the air, and then you'll see a message scroll across the screen that says
THIS HAS BEEN A TEST OF THE EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM.
How can I make this prediction, you might wonder.
It's pretty easy, really, since they've been doing that same exact test, every Wednesday, for the last 44 years.
