**Sunshine** new movie this weekend
Looks like a good movie opening this weekend:

Fifty years from now...
the sun is dying, and mankind is dying with it. Our last hope: a spaceship and a crew of eight men and women. They carry a device which will breathe new life into the star. But deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, their mission is starting to unravel.

Hiroyuki Sanada ("Ujio" in The Last Samurai) as Captain Kaneda

Yup true, my bro went to see it in february in Glasgow and he did say give it a go cos its is quite a good movie directed by Danny boyle who made other movies such as trainspotting, shallow grave, the beach, 28 days later and the other wee movie called millions that came out last year about a couple of little dudes that find a load o cash and just start handing it out.

i havint seen it yet but i will do soon cos his other films are very good, really loved shallow grave an absolut cracker of a movie.

I've stopped hoping for metaphysical insights from movies, lol, but I really do love the music, special effects, cinematography.

I didn't know Danny Boyle was the director, he's excellent, very unconventional (slight understatement...:)

Re: **Sunshine** new movie this weekend
went to see this today, special effects and music were spectacular, as expected, lol...

what surprised me was the *non* message of this film; at what point do you give up your physical life for the survival and 'good' of the remaining 6 billion remaining on the planet ?

Re: **Sunshine** new movie this weekend
Make sure that you see it at a cinema.

The sun on the big screen makes the movie. It won't have the same impact watching it anywhere else.

Not the worst, but the there is a scene toward the end which drags it down IMO.

A few pieces of "inner sanctum" knowledge embedded within it.

I won't spoil it.
