Could it be an actual breech in the magnetosphere
letting in cosmic dust and particles?

We have had a FLAT LINE KP Index for a couple of days
which means the magnetosphere is extremely weak.

Something called "sprites" which ARE breeches in the
protective shields of Earth are PINK--same color as
we see in those pictures.

would not be a surprise...but still very rare in daytime
