Half a million a year? And over how many years has this been going on? Ten? Twenty? More? This means that somewhere there is a substantial population of possibly (now) highly trained adults for which no official records exist. Could that explain the large number of "troops", helicopter pilots, drivers and "men in black" which seem to materialise whenever there is a UFO incident or some other suspect goings on? Just a thought!
