Anonymous Coward User ID: 33469749 United Kingdom 11/15/2019 08:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "Turn the other cheek" doesn't mean to be a doormat and let your enemy take advantage of you. It means stay silent and let God avenge you. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78168512 When someone slaps you, it could be because God is using him to punish you for some sin you committed. So some of your sin debt is removed. When you turn your cheek, you tempt him to hit you once more, and when he does, he increases his sin and you decrease yours some more. So on judgement day, he will have to account for his attack on you but you will be absolved of the sins that you paid for by receiving the slaps. The same principle is in proverbs 25 If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you. Proverbs 25:21-22 Do good to your enemy and leave it to God to avenge you. Unless he repents, and you forgive him, the enemy has burning coals heaped on his head on judgement day because he not only did evil, but also benefited from food and water belonging to the one he oppressed. Works based false gospel. According to your version, Jesus died in vain |

Old Testament is not what Jesus was teaching. He came with new commandment. And that commandment is to love one another. To love your neighbor more than you love yourself. Because Jesus loves everyone and He died for us. |

Sin is an offense against God. No amount of being hurt, being in pain, being afflicted, being punished, OR DOING GOOD THINGS, can remove your offenses against God. ONLY by asking him directly, "Lord Jesus", for him to forgive you is the ONLY way for your criminal sin record to be absolved. And if you don't stop offending him and learn to love everyone the same then you will be destroyed on judgment day. |
