I've been able to find music I'd never otherwise find or reach through the sharing of some of these great blogs. Floodlit Footprint and Lost In Thyme are a couple of the best ones. That's if you're into rare psychedellic music that has zero value in the commercial world these days. If blog sites like that are destroying music, then I would say to him that mediocrity is destroying the music industry. And I'd know exactly where to point the finger. I downloaded The Captain and the Kid on p2p a coule of years ago. No Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. No Rocket Man. No Candle in the Wind. No Island Girl. Not even a Song For Guy. It was full of pap. Worth zero dollars. I'm sure glad I didn't buy it. Elton John can suck it!
