Local Authorities say they detonated bomb, FBI denies there being any bomb
GOOSE CREEK, South Carolina (CNN) -- Two men faced state explosives charges Sunday after police outside Charleston, South Carolina, found what a law enforcement source said was a bomb and bomb-making material in their car during a weekend traffic stop.
"They're going to be formally charged tomorrow with state charges by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, and those charges will involve explosives," Berkeley County Chief Deputy Butch Henerey told CNN.

But federal officials disputed that account, telling CNN that there was no bomb.

And FBI spokesman Richard Kolko told CNN, "We have not found a clear link to terrorism."

The incident began about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, when the men's vehicle was pulled over along U.S. Highway 176 in Goose Creek, about 20 miles north of Charleston, for speeding, police said.

The law enforcement source, who insisted on anonymity, said the materials included at least one bomb and a number of bomb-making elements, including chemicals capable of being used in the production of bombs, fuses and igniters -- small gunpowder charges used to ignite some explosives.

The Charleston County bomb squad responded, and traffic was halted along the road for 10 hours until the materials were detonated, reporter Venton Blandin of CNN affiliate WCIV said. He described the sound of the detonation as "fairly small."

Police identified the men as Yousef Megahed, 21, and Ahmed Mohamed, 24, neither of whom is a U.S. citizen. They were being held at the Berkeley County Detention Center in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

But federal officials cast doubt on the South Carolina authorities' account Sunday night.

Federal law enforcement sources familiar with the case said no bomb was found -- but the men arrested did not have ready explanations for materials found in the vehicle. That raised questions, which prompted local officials to contact the FBI and Joint Terrorism Task Force, the sources said.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the FBI, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Berkeley County Sheriff were investigating.

An officer at the detention center said explosives and possible immigration charges will likely be filed Monday. A news conference is scheduled for Monday at 11:30 a.m

Has anyone noticed that when a real threat comes along you really don't hear squat on the news but they love to talk and talk about possible threats to keep the sheeple scared. Things that make you go hmmm.

Why Charleston/Goose Creek? What's there? I know it's one of the major shipping ports of the east coast..is that it?

The contradicting information delivered by different govt. sources does raise suspicion, since they normally don't mind making a large fuss about such discoveries because they happen so rarely, and fear monger, like the flaming car in Glasgow's airport a while back.

With conflicting version being put out it has all the signs of a major coverup. And as usual, the local police tell the truth and the FBI and other federal agencies deny what happened then put pressure of the local police to change their story. The FBI being as corrupted as the WH/BushCo, have sold out the American people on so many occasions, the 1st WTC basement bombing, OK City bombing, the setup in Miami a few months back.. the list goes on.

Q: Is team Bush still planning on trying more false flag terror? Chertoff has a "gut feeling" about terror attacks as does Rick Santorum. It amazes me that this group still is trying the same approach to false terror that has not been allowed hundreds of times, per the Zetas. Is this due to Congress openly considering impeachment of Bush now as many, including Senator Boxer openly are discussing this? [and from another] White House, FBI Agents Race to Disrupt 'Summer of '07' Threat [July 11] [link to blogs.abcnews.com] Whitehouse Senior law enforcement officials said today that the growing signs of a "Summer of '07" terror attack on the U.S. have led the FBI to dispatch dozens of agents to track down new leads across the country. The threat has also led the White House to begin a weekly meeting of senior law enforcement and intelligence officials. [and from another] Chertoff Bases Warning of Terror Risk on 'Gut Feeling' [July 11] [link to www.chron.com] Fearing complacency among the American people over possible terror threats, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said in Chicago on Tuesday that the nation faces a heightened chance of an attack this summer. Still, Chertoff said there are not enough indications of an imminent plot to raise the current threat levels nationwide. And he indicated his remarks were based on "a gut feeling" formed by past seasonal patterns of terrorist attacks, recent al-Qaida statements, and intelligence he did not disclose.

SOZT
We have stated that the Council of Worlds has allowed an exception on the Rule of Non-Interference, allowing ourselves and our brethren in the Service-to-Other to interfere with the Bush White House plans to create terrorism within the US as an excuse to invoke martial law and continue the Bush occupation of Iraq. This has proved true since 911, and has even been extended to the UK recently. Given that, why are Chertoff and the White House promoting the expectation that terrorist attacks will occur in the US? They are clearly planning something, with the anticipation that this time, they will succeed. Since we have stopped literally hundreds of attempts, including dirty bombs in large cities within the US, they know they cannot actually cause a faked terrorist attack. But they can claim it occurred! Or so they think. In the past, the only thing they have been able to trot out before the public have been interrupted plans, and these pathetic groups of young men who were supplied with guns by the FBI. It was clear to the public that these yahoos did not pose a threat, and were only a possible threat because of the help they were getting from the FBI! Since none of this impressed the public, and since the UK has recently failed as a false flag operation site, what to do? The answer the White House has come up with is to claim an actual terror attack, complete with government reports and faked evidence to support the claim, and have this much on the news. Will this work? Hardly. Can they claim bioterrorism, when there are no bodies, no quarantine, no hospital wings assigned to the stricken? Can they claim a dirty nuke when there is no radioactivity and no explosion? Can they claim an attempt to throw a city into chaos by throwing a switch to create a blackout, when such stress on the grid occurs regularly during the heat of summer? Such attempts will only convince the public that terrorism is, and has been, faked by those in the White House, creating a furious lashback. It will not be the media leading the backlash, but public disgruntlement and disbelief registering in the polls that will show this result.

Just like any news that paints Muslim ragheads in a bad light, the feds want to brush this under the rug along with all the other Muslim criminals that have perpetrated small, individual acts of terrorism against the United States.

Rest assured, if these were two white men they would be stung up on the news in minutes. But oh no, we can't report anything negative about Muslims, their so fucking sensitive, lol.

The reason you do not hear much, is so that they can get more information form the two who were caught...I just wish they could hook them up to a cattle prod or two....Actually it is probably being done and that is a really good thing.

The answer is simple and in plain view. The LOCALS took charge and did the work , FBI got left out so they say there was no bomb. Just your usual interagency jealousy.

This one is easy. Some of the guys who are involved in a much larger plan were caught. They're downplaying it so it doesn't expose or threaten the success of a bigger plan.

Later, if there is a later, we'll look back on this story and it'll make a lot more sense.

It looks like the FBI policy is to bury any information about anything they are involved with. This incident sounds like a protected activity.
