Yes, it does work. I almost NEVER go to the doctor...haven't seen an MD since 2001. I like oil of oregano, sambucol, Emergen-C brand vitamin C, ginger, hot lemon and honey water.

That's great that you tried that good stuff and it worked. I do the same kinds of things when I get sick and seems like colds are mild and rare for me. Resting when you first get sick is key for me.

I have tried that thing I learned on GLP about putting hydrogen peroxide in my ears when I feel something coming on. That has seemed effective actually.

It's a good plan to keep supplies in the house like the things you named, the olive leaf extract, I have that, I have stuff to make elderberry syrup if I need it, I have lemon juice and honey, I have lots of vitamins and black tea, and lots of herbs and essential oils. That way if I get sick I don't have to go out and get anything. And most of it I ordered at some distance, and would have to wait for, it won't do you much good if you don't have the stuff.

Hey Revelation your comment about vitamin c is totally wrong. 300 mg is not the same as 1,000. I do understand that the excess is discarded but 300 mg is no where near a effective amount. Check out Gary Null's website for some additional info.

Mix 5 drops pure Oil of Oregano with a scant tsp of virgin olive oil. Chase it with a swig of coffee. Cures what ails you.

The key item you mentioned is olive leaf extract. I have been taking this twice daily all year. Unlike every year beforehand, not one cold or flu, touch wood.

I use echinacea when I start to feel a sinus problem starting. Anytime it's not a clear discharge, I tend to get a sinus infection, then it turns into a lower respiratory infection.
I grab the echinacea with zinc, take some vitamin C, and feel better in no time. I also switch between Neem, and oil of oregano to keep well during outbreaks in the cold and flu season.

Yeah, i think about that at least half the time when considering ailments and diseases etc.

TO perform a proper experiment, you first should have cloned yourself, virii and all... one of you then takes your home remedy, while the other takes the proverbial placebo.

Unfortunately your limited experiment using only yourself is invalid, and the conclusion you make "IT WORKED!!" is null and void. You have no idea if simply taking a placebo would have worked as well.

I take a couple of drops of oil of oregano straight and undiluted under my tongue at the first sign of a cold.
It's nasty stuff but it stops a cold dead.. immediately, the cold is gone. Sometimes the cold starts coming back a few hours later and I give myself another dose. That's normally all it takes.. 2 intense shots but all cold symptoms cease completely.

What you took was both an antidote and a flushing purgative of the Gastrointestinal contents that were autointoxicating the blood stream and thereby the rest of the body with poisoned blood.

The excess vitamin C actually creates the flush action while the rest was forming a broad spectrum antidote and antitoxin action.

Sometimes the body just heals itself if you get up of your ass and stop wallowing in self pity. Let's face it - if your well enough to go to the quack then you not really ill. Swilling anti bio pills will just make whatever's bugging you more resistant.

Megga doses of Vit C won't do you any harm (unless you are allergic to the chemical colorants and flavours they use) but they do little, if any, proven good. An apple and an orange will be better for the digestion than any pills.

Proper diet, fresh air and excercise are the best things for any minor cold and general all round health.

Raw berries are mildly toxic if eaten in quantity so be sure to cook them as this destroys the cyanides. Don't overdo it though as you will also destroy the Vit C.

You can also home brew them into a delicious Elderberry wine.

From a scientific ( and personal ) view, you accomplished the task BUT have NO idea exactly which combination ( one ? ) actually worked.

It's like the car won't start ( an OLD one ), so we drain out the old gas, change the spark plugs, new wireing,
clean the carborator and say a few prayers. It starts, but WHAT was the cure and what was wasted money/time ?

I AM a believer in natural cures and HAIL your victory!
However, SOME attention should be payed to a more scientific approach, IMHO.

Eagle, even doctors have to go through trial and error. Some things work together synergistically, so it's not any one ingredient in the mix that does the trick. Nobody cares just what cured the illness, just that it does! Like your car starts now and who cares why!

Thanks OP!!! I am a big believer in natural cures. And I do believe in Vitamin C. The key is to take it every few hours. Google "Ascorbic Acid Flush". It does help to get over colds and flu.

Whatever. I'm surprised you believe in Christ. What DID they do before doctors came around in this day and age?
