Yep, the making of a president. Fraudulent from start to finish. America has a lot of nerve criticizing the voting process in other countries.

How bizarre is it when the Iowa GOP Chairman announces the winner of the Straw Poll and there's nothing but crickets? Even he couldn't believe it.

I'm surprised Romney even got 90 compared to Paul's 332.

Fuzzy Math: The Iowa Straw Poll

I met with the Vote in the Sunshine crew on the morning of the Straw Poll in Ames. They were told by the Iowa GOP that there would be a total of 60 shiny new Diebold Accuvote Optical Scan machines deployed in 3 separate locations. As the Des Moines Register stated on August 10:

“Employees of the Story County elections office will oversee the casting of ballots at 60 machines at three buildings on the Iowa State University campus.”

I helped with vote verification in the morning and walked around the venue during the afternoon. There was no shortage of voters queuing up to vote from my observations, with long lines snaking around the three voting locations, especially in the early voting.

As to the voting machine ‘malfunctions’, the Des Moines Register said this:
“Voting machine difficulties delayed the announcement of the vote totals. About 1,500 ballots needed to be recounted, said Mary Tiffany, a spokeswoman for Republican Party of Iowa.

Two machines caused the problem, said State Auditor David Vaudt. “What likely happened is someone submitted their ballot too quickly after the other,” he said. The ballots from those machines were hand counted, then re-fed into the system to recalculate the vote. A campaign poll-watcher said in one instance, a black box contained 500 paper ballots but the machine’s memory said it had scanned in 498.”

Because of the heat most folks were at least trying to get in the shortest lines they could find, and it did not appear that any of the 3 locations were underutilized.

So we know from the state Auditor that one ‘problem’ machine contained 500 votes. Assuming most machines contained a similar pattern of use, then they should also contain about the same number of votes. 60 (machines) x 500 = 30,000 votes. Ron Paul, if you do not challenge this result, it will continue to happen with every other vote. You cannot let this stand.

The fix is already in. What can be done? How do we get the most poplular candidate to win?

Ron Paul has the most support so far, but the media refuses to acknowledge it. What's wrong with us? We should be angry!

Phew, what a week -- what a great week in Iowa. But first the important news: my wife Carol had a heart-pacemaker implanted on Sunday, and she is doing much better. She had a scare -- me too! -- and we are both so grateful for all your good wishes and prayers. They worked. And now she is safely back in Texas.

As I campaigned from morning to night in the August heat the last week, sometimes I'd get tired. And then I'd think of all the supporters, working in Iowa and so many other states, who never stop no matter how tired they are. Could I ever do less? Never. And I never will.

What could be more important than this movement of ours -- for freedom, peace, and prosperity? We hold the future of our country, of our children and grandchildren, in our hands. We can never stop, never flag. And we never will.

One old friend compared this campaign to the tortoise, and our opponents to the hare, in the old Aesop’s fable. The hare was fast and flashy, but because of over-confidence and carelessness, he lost the race. The tortoise kept going, step by steady step, taking nothing for granted, never giving in, never giving up, and winning the race.

In Iowa, we took some good steps forward in our race. Considering the converts we made, the organization we brought forth, and the amount of money we spent as compared to the others, we are on the right trajectory.

And now, after I make sure Carol is well taken care of, I am off to New Hampshire, and campaigning in Texas for our straw poll on September 1 ( [link to www.texasgop.org]

This our moment. Not only because Americans are sick and tired of foreign wars, of the oppressive income tax, of growing restrictions on our precious liberties -- but because spending, deficits, and Federal Reserve troublemaking have brought on a global financial crisis that endangers all of us. Paul, how do we get around "the fix"?

What did we learn from the last election? Hmmm? Anyone?

The exit polls mean nothing, at least that's what we were told after nothing matched up.

I watched that dumb assed Barbie-Doll News Anchor on FOX, try to snag him with 911 questions. But he beat the bee-yotch.
