Oh brother kids have been cutting themselves for amusement since I was a kid and that was at least 10 years ago. We didn't call ourselves emo though. For some it's a rite of passage into adulthood it represents pain. Other people barf up all their food or have sex all over the place. Everyone has their own way of dealing with going from child to adult. That's the real truth.

emo kids are fucking, ugh. I ran into one while she was watching tv that was playing some emo rock song and explained to me the song represents some kind of... symbolism of some sort, and I'm like "omg that singer is so stupid. OMG your life is so hard you lost your girlfriend! you live in a great country where employment is possible, it's easy to get food, you have a great shelter etc. and fuck you're complaining about bitchy things. they're just a bunch of spoiled whiny brats"
I think it kind of hit her when I mentioned maybe he should go try living in a fucking third world country.

it's just the 'in' thing. Once again it was started by some kids trying to be different but now it is almost the mainstream. Just ask anyone who has been to JB-HiFi , all the staff there look/act the same.

Those cutters are just "I am happy that I cut" kind of people.
I wear black all the time, I once even diyed my hear, that was a year or two ago.
Only one thing, I am one of the most happiest and helpfullest dudes at my school.
I had alot of 'cutting' friends. When I found out about them cutting, I ussualy went into a rage, and since they kinda needed me to get along at school, they stopped.

The term EMO gets thrown around too much these days, kids become one like it's a new popular thing to be. One guy i used to know even called me EMO because i needed a hair cut and my hair grows naturally EMO style, even though i don't harm myself with blades, im EMO because of my natural hair. It's all bullshit, EMO is like Hippy, people just throw the name at each other to make themselves feel better. Although some kids take it serious, they need help because they are probably being bullied by someone and have depression, all they really need is love and care.
