A senior member of Shincheonji’s Wuhan chapter, now given conditional immunity, indicated that this is partly true. The Korean American member was tasked with the job. I understand that some of the pathogen recovered from the broken vessel was activated with the elements which were supposed to make it more virulent and was given for safe carriage by athletes of Nato countries participating in the World Military Games before the Chinese Security Bureau got wind of it. The trail got cold as the US Consulate in Wuhan was later evacuated.

Exactly what happened after all that was the Chinese Authorities in Wuhan and Hubei were completely caught by surprise and confusion. Local health authorities tried to hide facts from Beijing. Many Korean Shincheonji members were asymptomatic when they left Wuhan. Likewise many other nationals were all clear of symptoms when they departed Wuhan.
