Actually, don't fall into the trap of assuming that western society in the dark ages (or whenever) has the ultimate word on what humanity believes. We tend to focus on them because they are the root of our current civilisation, but they werent the only ones around, by far. They believed some pretty idiotic stuff in those times, them ancesters of mine. Mostly because of the religion you hold so dearly.
