Seawater close to the Arctic ice is about +4 C. above normal, but seawater close to the Antarctica ice is about -2 C. below normal. Odd? Gulfstream looks to me to be working overtime. In general, seawater temps are above average a few degrees C. worldwide? The worlds oceans appear to be warming rapidly or at least above normal in temp for this time of year. It is too widespread to be a data glitch. A couple of degrees C. above average in water temp is a huge difference, imo. Seawater temps off Greenland are above normal also. That is a tremendous amount of energy that is being held in the Earths Oceans!

Felix is tracking 285(WNW). Dean tracked 270(W) mostly in the early days...even going 265(WSW) at times. However Felix originated at a lower Latitude than Dean which gives some wiggle room to the forecast track. The Gaveston Hurricane came out of approx. the same area as Felix, but it's way too early to be making any comparison.. And it is a slower moving hurricane so plenty of time to watch and see if there is any neeed to be alarmed.
