What is the most unexplainable thing to ever happen to you personally?
When I was a boy I remember the console stereo turning on by itself one afternoon. It was playing a song that was a favorite of my grandfathers. Having just arrived home from school, I was the only one there. I assumed someone left the stereo on from earlier in the morning and didnīt give it a second thought. As I went over to turn it off the music suddenly stopped. When I opened the console to turn off the power, I was astonished when I saw that it was already off. I wasnīt really scared until I walked away and noticed the stereo was not only unplugged, but wrapped up nicely in a rubber band. I remember my mother would do that once a month when sheīd go around the house to give it what she referred to as a Deep Cleaning.

You see my grandfather had died two weeks earlier. He and I were really close.

Another week or so went by and my father came home with a box. In it were some personal belongings that my grandmother knew my grandfather wouldīve wanted me to have. Amongst them were some WWI medals, his transister radio and some other keepsakes. To my surprise there were three record albums we use to listen to together. One of them contained the song I heard the unplugged stereo playing that day.

I often think about that incident even to this day. Iīve come to terms with what really happened was that I probably heard what I wanted to hear.

What was the strangest thing that might have happened to you that to this day, you still have no reasonable explanation for?

When I fell for and trusted someone who turned out to be the complete opposite of how he presented himself. I used to think I could trust my intuition and was a good judge of character but I have no explanation for why it failed me this time.......

the strangest thing...

When my grandmother died, actually within a minute of her passing, I heard a kind of wind-like noise and the shelf in my kitchen came crashing down. No one else was home, the windows and door were closed and I was two rooms away. A half hour later, my mom called to tell me, and I cut her off saying "Grandma died, didnīt she?"

It was just weird.

I was driving one time and encountered a situation in a blind curve where there should have been mass destruction and mayhem...but i passed through it like nothing was there, the only evidence that something had happened was my increased heart rate

Re: What is the most unexplainable thing to ever happen to you personally?
My mother missed a flight by seven minutes because it had snowed the night before and driving conditions were treacherous. She caught the next flight that left for the connecting destination only 45 minutes later. Unfortunately none of our family knew about this. The flight she had originally been booked on crashed and everyone aboard perished. Being uninformed of this, she had just enough time to get to her connecting flight and meet up with my father who was on leave and meeting her in Hawaii. When she arrived at the Honolulu Airport, she deboarded the plane and walked out to find my father sitting in a section chorded off where there were people consoling each other and weeping. She walked up to him and asked him what had happened. She said sheīll never forget his reaction to this day. This didnīt personally happen to me, but it was in some ways unexplainable as to why she missed that flight, and lived.

Re: What is the most unexplainable thing to ever happen to you personally?
In 2001 my mother was very ill and on life support in intensive care, there was a young black man in the same ward that was only 18, he had double pneumonia. His family was distraught at the sudden onset of his illness and quick decline.

It was a 1.5 hour drive each way to the hospital and I wasnīt sleeping very well. I was exhausted. On the way home this one night, I had been thinking how that I would switch places with my mother if I could. I thought, "God take me instead, I would give my life for hers" And a voice returned with "Of course you would, but would you die for him?"

I knew the voice meant the young man, and I said yes, that I would die for him, but I didnīt really mean it.

This was at the time that the MIR space station broke up and fell into the atmosphere. Just as soon as I said yes, I saw these 2 huge sheets of metal fall, one on the left and on on the right of me. I thought I should stop, but I was afraid too, Somehow I knew that if I stopped and got out to see what this was, that God would take me up on my claim.

That boy died a few days later.

I wasnīt there, but I can imagine his disbelief. I never had the opportunity to ask him about this. My mother related the story to not long after he passed. She led an interesting life.

So you were sailing in the south pacific? Because thatīs where MIR fell.

You may wish to check on the details of your story before posting it.

Actually parts of MIR did fall on land. I believe Australia was a primary impact point. In fact I want to say some even landed here in the States.

It fell about a thousand miles off of Australia.
Nothing hit the states.

Iīm not saying the story is false. Just that it was not MIR.

Thatīs what makes it unexplainable. I wasnīt trying to claim that parts of Mir fell near me, I should have made that more clear, but I have always thought that, that is what happened. Had I gotten out to get the metal, I would probably be dead right now.

And donīt worry, you are not the only one who doesnīt believe me. My own brother laughed at my experience.

Yes it is.

I must have fell just right. I grabbed at some electrical cables that were hanging from the bottom of the car above me. Must have slowed me down enough.

Doglike, Iīm not saying your story is false.
Itīs incredible to say the least.
Iīll stop hijacking this thread now with this.

My unexplainable story........
I was pulling a 220V electrical line to feed a dryer. My partner hooked up the line to the breaker and let the power loose without my knowledge. Since I thought the line was dead I was working with two hands. And on top of that my head was resting on a metal laundry chute. I touched the two hot lines with my bare hands and 220V went straight through my chest and out the top of my head to the chute.

No burns, no nothing. I should have been dead.

Nobodyīs getting me this early in life :)

I use to go fishing with this guy who use to work on power lines. He was up doing just that one day when for some unexplainable reason an arc of electricity, they figure from static buildup, came down and through him, came out of his nutsack and into the ground, completely avoiding his gloves and required footwear. If you are wondering, yes it blew his balls off. They werenīt able to reconstruct them, but thankfully he was left the full use of his penis.

I know, wierd story but true. I know the guy personally.

When I did Operation Dear Abby, and my chosen penpal was the nephew of my momīs best friend, who lived right across the street.

When I saw my first car, with the same old stickers, pull up alongside me in another state at the red light, ten years after I sold it.

A dimmly lit hallway appear on a wall right in front of me when I was a kid. It stayed there for a while then it dissappear. I was too afraid to even touch it. I always hoped it would come back so that I could walk in.
