Not only will I kill whomever is coming at me, but take out a few neighbors as well. And with regards to lighting, get a tac-light, duh! Oh, and Duncan, statistics show that when a burglar enters your home in the middle of the night, most residents are groggy to the point where the first 3 shots are fired off randomly. That leaves you with 3 rounds left in the cylinder - 4 if you pay a bit extra. Sorry, but I'll keep my HK USP .45 with 9 rounds next to my bed. Plus, I have a UTL tac light on it, so I can actually see what I'm shooting at! And after over 500 rounds, not one jam. Those Germans sho do know how to make autos. And I don't mean BMWs. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 281673 United States 09/17/2007 01:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Speaking of ammo best go TOMORROW and stock up and I kid you not...I went to the indoor range today and wanted to compare prices...so I asked "how much for a case of 9x18?" and he LAUGHED at me...500 plus bucks..then I laughed at him since I'd gotten a case just a few days before for 149 and change! When I gagged on his price and repeated mine he said flat out, "you'd better go get some more". I am. I still think he's full of shit how can the price go up so much in a few days...my buddy said maybe he misunderstood me (what I was asking for) and that is possible, but how can you misunderstand 9x18...that's pretty clear. I got a new baby and am totally in love a cz 82: straight as an arrow, hardy, awesome condition, and incredibly accurate...a piece of cake to break down and dirt cheap I could not believe my good luck..but the old dudes at my gun club know their shit. Speaking of old dudes at the gun club...let me tell you this, after the pistols finished the bowling pin match it was shotgun time and I have to say I was stunned. I watched these old guys (and I am talking a few of them were in their 80s) pick off five bowling pins in 2 seconds...yes, I said 2. I was timing for one dude...and those were the automatic guys, the pump guys add 2 or three more seconds. I keep an uncharged pump by the bed, I know how to charge it one handed, (easy as pie) and the sound...just the sound.....if the bad guy was foolish enough to keep coming at me after he heard that sound....all I got to say is I hear they have good cleaning crews to get the guts off your walls. I'm looking for a nice auto shot for skeet/trap hoping to find a pre 1993 remington 1100, (hey a guy can dream) but will probably end up with a 1187...Also on the shopping list is the new bushmaster lite with a red dot for our rifle competitions. By the way, I don't recall which stupid ass poster commented that we shoot dear with automatic guns, that one made me laugh my ass off. Any yahoo who has to shoot a deer with an automatic rifle is not only in the minority, but an ass. Most states regulate what type of gun AND how many and what size loads you can carry..AND people hunt to eat, I know people who, if they could not get some deer each year would likely go hungry...and so would the deer as there are too many competing for too few resources. here are a few statistics on conceal carry and crime rates, they are totally opposite of what the naysayers SAID would happen. They claimed having conceal carry would return us to the rootintootin wild west...they were wrong..now the district of columbia with strict gun laws has the highest per capita murder rate in the nation (last time I checked.) IDW User ID: 299029 United Kingdom 09/17/2007 01:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Niether. Because I live in a suburban setting , a handgun is a poor choice for home defense for several reasons. For one, little Danny boy next door sleeping peacefully in his own bed would be happier without a hole in him if I were to miss an intruder, and the bullet go through a window and hit something downrange of a critical nature .Another thing is I might hit someone else in my own house through the walls. A shotgun can penetrate walls, but it wont kill or seriously injure after it has. One thing that a person should ALWAYS know is what lies in his line of sight before he fires, and not assume walls , branches or windows will stop high velocity slugs. SInce both of these weapons can penetrate windows, doors and even walls, the best choice for home defence is a shotgun with a collapsable stock and a LEGALLY shortened barrel. 20 inches is best for maximum spread and velocity/weildability. You can buy these cheap at any gun show. Use #4 or #5 shot, both of these will make a mess of any intruder but will not kill or seriously injure anyone DOWNRANGE. I don't know about the legality of this weapon in your area, so you should check it out yourself, but since it is readilly available in texas I assume it is legal. The first rule of gun safety, know your target and what is beyond it. You cannot see though walls, doors and curtains. |

To think some cowardly poof could kill someone with the twitch of their finger, its just seems so very cowardly, I was born in the wrong age, take me to a time where a mans skill and courage kept him alive, a time when being a free man meant something, back when soldiers were warriors and wars were fought up close and personnel when taking life required you face your enemy taste his blood and sweat and watch the look on his face as you hacked him to tiny bits with a sharp bit of metal. I have loved my swords, too. The older the better. The more used, the better. I collected swords for right at 30 years. You can imagine. I loved my sword collection, that is why it had to go. I'm feeling better now, but i know. Try to remember back.... Am I fucking crazy?...yep. |
