Scientists in Seattle plan to pay people to catch malaria in order to test the safety and efficacy of new vaccines.
The Seattle Biomedical Research Institute and the PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative are collaborating to build a Human Challenge Center at SBRI to test new interventions against the deadly malaria parasite. This center will allow us to greatly increase our ability to evaluate whether a new vaccine formulation should advance to testing in clinical trials in malaria-endemic populations, Dr. Christian Loucq of MVI said Wednesday in a statement.
The laboratory's Malaria Clinical Trials Center will be one of only a handful of facilities of its kind in the world. Volunteers inoculated with a malaria vaccine candidate will be deliberately infected with malaria through the bite of malaria-infected mosquitoes to assess whether or not the candidate vaccine can prevent or delay malaria infection.
The Seattle Times said the strain of malaria used in the testing is a cloned strain that can be quickly cured. More than 900 people have participated in similar tests at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. There are also labs in Britain and the Netherlands, the newspaper said.
And all are completely stupid |

I was wanting to get some input on this blog site of those using MMS- their impressions as to the taste.
I find taking MMS to be extremely easy- EXCEPT FOR THE TASTE. And as I increase the dosage, I'm up to 16 drops once a day, the resistance to put the stuff in my mouth and swallow seems to be increasing as well. I mix my cocktails in a separate room- carrying a stopwatch with me for the timing. Then come in to the "lab" to stop the reaction at the 3 minute mark. Holding my breath I down the MMS solution and breath through my mouth for about 2 minutes, leaving the "lab" for fresh air. If I get a whiff of the chlorine dioxide I am immediately nauseous- only slightly but it is an unpleasant feeling.
If your body is getting something that is very good for it then why is it so revolting to consume MMS? Is this true with any other foods that are good for the body that we consume? Usually if your body is rejecting something like this it is for a good reason. If your dog won't eat something that is normally on his diet- like some hamburger or a piece of cheese that is usually a good clue that something is wrong with it...so why is it so hard to down MMS? I dare say many quit their MMS routine BECAUSE of this taste resistance.
As to disguising the taste I have been using pure apple juice but I hear pineapple juice- if you can find it w/o vit C- is even a better mask of the taste. Has anyone else found this to be true? |

Yes, thanks. I read at curezone that JH was having some technical quirks with his site, and is forwarding users to the mmsmiracle.com site temporarily.
As for the awful taste, I don't know about why, if MMS is good for us, it can taste so bad, and cause such a reaction. I know from personal experience, that after a vomitting episode, it took me a while to mentally "get past" the gag reflex from the smell. Maybe a good question for Adam Abraham - I'll post the question on his site.. In the meanwhile, think of it as the Buckley's cough syrup - it tastes bad and it works :)
I actually do the same thing: breath through my mouth the whole time I am mixing and drinking... works for me. I am now on a maintenance dose of 8-10 drops three times a week or so, and find I can drink the activated MMS mixed with water alone. In fact, I found that the apple cider (without Vitamin C) was making it taste more unpalatable after a while...
Good luck and stick with it ! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 391537 3/13/2008 9:57 PM | | Re: Breakthrough! MMS The Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century | Quote | Many of you knew, or perhaps feared that this moment was coming. David Dartez, managing director of Global Light Network, of San Antonio, Texas, will announce a drastic change in his policies for selling MMS that will impact the entire community, and hence, the world.
He received a letter today from his sodium chlorite supplier who told Dartez that they were contacted by a government agency. The letter indicated the agency’s understanding that the company was selling sodium chlorite that was being used for eventual human consumption. The implication was that this is illegal. Dartez confirmed this development when I spoke to him via telephone.
By the time most people read this entry, he will have announced dramatic policy changes in the Global Light Network Update, the e-newsletter that goes out to almost 10,000 of his customers, which he refers to as members, each week.
The changes will impact the availability of sodium chlorite, which is the main ingredient used to generate chlorine dioxide, the oxidizing agent with which tens of thousands of people have seen positive results after successfully reducing the organic and inorganic pathogen load on their bodies.
Global Light Network is by far the largest MMS supplier on the planet, having processed over 4,000 lbs of sodium chlorite since August of 2007, enough to produce 10’s, if not 100’s of thousands of bottles of MMS.
Dartez stayed true to Jim Humble’s principle to keep the price low, and therefore affordable to more people. He took that principle a step further and packaged “MMS kits” which included enough supplies to make 14 bottles of MMS and activator. He priced these kits so low, as to start a cottage community of MMS resellers.
All of that is about to change.
Just how it all changes is not engraved in stone. In fact, it’s up to you. This doesn’t have to be an end. It can be a beginning. It’ll definitely be a shift. |

Farmgirl User ID: 307690 3/14/2008 7:53 AM | | Re: Breakthrough! MMS The Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century | Quote | Well that didn't take long...I think we should follow Adam's advice, however, and think of this as a "shift", rather than the "end". Let's stay positive, and see what we can do to allow us to continue taking responsibility for our health, and to find a way to keep MMS in our well-being "toolbox". Does this mean that there is now a limited supply of MMS available? (ie. pre-mixed) |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 367405 3/14/2008 2:27 PM | | Re: Breakthrough! MMS The Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century | Quote | I suspect that unless Global light finds a way to get more supply that they will be out in 3 to 4 months.
I have taken incentive to purchase one kit for every family member. This will surely be sufficient for many years if the product is used judiciously.
Since kits are not available any longer from GL you might want to consider purchasing at least one bottle for each person you care about.
It would not go to waste. The stuff keeps forever. Jim Humble has recommended that you store it with detailed instructions for use so people down the line will know what to do with it. |

I talked to David Dartez and Jim Humble. David believes he is going to be able to continue getting sodium chlorite from his supplier. They've made a modest change to the description on the Category page of their web sites, removing any reference to internal ingestion. There *may* be a change in labeling too, to the extent that the instructions for internal use *may* be removed.
Jim is not in favor of that. He also doesn't believe that the FDA is, in his words, *stupid* enough to take such an action on the basis of internal use, since there are many products that contain sodium chlorite on the market.
Jim also has friendly connections with someone at high levels within the FDA, and has vowed to find out for sure if they have any involvement with this. He suspects that it is someone else; perhaps even a hoax.
Interestingly, I received a... snide "I told you so!" type of comment from the former anonymous coward Bruce Crighton an hour ago in the comment section from my post last night."
It's almost funny. |

corpus User ID: 394852 3/18/2008 12:13 PM | | Re: Breakthrough! MMS The Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century | Quote | Does Double Whammy activator improve MMS use??
(Please read copied post below.)
Jim Humble stressed the need for activation of the sodium chlorite in his book, and said non-activated MMS had little benefit just like stabilized oxygen (4% sodium chlorite solution) had very little effect/benefit by itself. Activated sodium chlorite he said had 100 TIMES more chlorine dioxide available for assimilation.
Since the chlorine dioxide doesn't hurt normal tissue or cause resistant pathogens from constant use, I take 5-10 drops every night as long after dinner as possible for maximum potency (since protein neutralizes the chlorine dioxide) just before bed to increase the efficacy while the body does its repairs normally while sleeping. If I catch some illness, I can easliy jump to 15+ drops without having gastric distress or the need to ramp up the dose gradually to avoid distress. Hence, I should be able to more quickly kill off the cause of any illness more quickly should I get one.
By my personal observations, I would say that 5 activated MMS drops on an empty stomach or while fasting is assimilated much more completely than 15 activated drops on a full stomach!
Also, using Double Whammy activator (5% citric acid powder added to off-the-shelf 5% distilled vinegar) I have noticed there is less bad chlorine taste (so I assume normally wasted outgassed chlorine is now forming some dichloroacetate--DCA, along with the same amount of chlorine dioxide as usual). My stool seems to be slightly darker too using this activator, so I think something additional is going on with Double Whammy activator.
I hope some scientist picks up on this post and experiments further to see if Double Whammy improves MMS efficacy especially against cancer as I suspect it should. |

MMS The Miracle Mineral Supplement of the 21st Century | Quote | Newbie question here, so please forgive me if this has already been addressed in another post. I have scanned this thread in a cursory search for an answer, but it is a formidable thread!
I found a link to Humble's online book just very recently, and started a "google research project" on MMS. I am not a chemist, but I think I have a fairly good grasp of how this MMS compound is expected to work in the body. My concern comes with the use of the sodium chlorite crystals (SCC).
I have not been able to find any reference to the GRADE of SCC that is acceptible in the manufacturing of MMS. I called about 10 different laboratory chemical suppliers in Ontario this morning, and most were very helpful. I learned that there are different grades, and that the SCC that is usually used for municipal water treatment is only about 50% pure. That leaves a big ??? as to what's in the other 50%. They could not tell me however, what (if any) other compounds, ingredients or by-products might be found in the impure percentage of the SCC.
I found technical grade SCC which is ~80% pure, but the same question remains unanswered. I emailed Kenneth Richardson with my questions this evening, and I hope to hear back from him as to what he's using. I would like to try this MMS, but I don't really feel compelled to imbibe something that someone made in their kitchen 1/2 a world away, with ingredients that were synthesized by a chemical manufacturer that had no intention of the product being prepared for human ingestion!
What I would like to hear is that the MMS that you people are using with apparent great success is concocted using a SCC that is made for its utmost purity, not industrial intentions.
Can anyone help?
Thanks |
