the us dollar will rise in value from this point because european banks will start to lower their interest rates not only to follow the fed, but because several indicators show severe slowing down of european economies. one of the main reasons the us dollar was so weak was because the euro was relatively stronger in terms of interest rates.
we have already reached the peak in the debt/inflationary cycle. |

To play devil's advocate the US was probably technically broke after WW2 with the massive debt from the war....and we have been in debt for years and years. But then again I am accumulating some Gold and other assets that have some value. I can't understand why we are giving billions in foreign aid and the list goes on. I'd cut off the bastards. |

if other countries lower rates it will kill currency in general VS commodities...
that's REAL WORLD INFLATION
ALL CURRENCIES WILL BE WORTH LESS
gold will continue to climb
commodity prices like oil, wheat, etc will continue to rise vs world currencies
cutting the rate was suicide

Of the few who listen, fewer still will understand,
Understanding does not mean believe,
Of the handful who believe, most may not know what to do,
Those who even know, how many will actually do ?
And the rare ones who have done it.......

I was wrong in my estimation that they would not sacrifice the dollar...
what they did yesterday was signal things are much worse than you think out there..
I'm buying SKF (ultra short financial fund) today while it is cheap
no way in hell are the banks out of the woods on this one

Guess again. Currencies are now commodities, and like any commodity its value is due to supply/demand factors. The world is awash in dollars and the money stock is growing at at 25% annual rate.
Their is only one direction the dollar can go and that is down. |

The dollar will continue to derease in value vs. world currencies: here is why
1) Lowering the rates means they will PRINT more fiat money!
2) If china unpegs its currency from ours, the chinese currency will rise and they will buy more of the US for less $$$$.
3) Do not forget that the big chinese corporations are owned by wealthy americans and europeans. |

The US had a huge debt after WWII, but we had cornered the market on global manufacturing (and we had lots of domestic oil production for ourselves and to export).. so we could earn our way out of the debt hole. We don't have that now.
Unless something radical happens in the positive arena, looks like US is headed for 3rd world status (inflation, living standard collapse).. transition cold be ugly. |

1>- gubermint spent 9 trillion it doesn't have by printing more dollars.
2>- Outlook for balancing budget is "nil"
3>- American personal debits are astronomical.

5>-balance of trade payments just continue to get worse. Sage of Omaha says this is more deadly then any other.

Buying gold and silver is for you rich folks, us poor folks by the thousands I must say we will perish.
