ABDUCTED BY ALIENS... Or ...Sleep Paralysis???
The condition is characterized by being unable to move or speak.

It is often associated with a feeling that there is some sort of presence, a feeling which often arouses fear but is also accompanied by an inability to cry out.

The paralysis may last only a few seconds.

Sleep paralysis is a condition that occurs in the state just before dropping off to sleep (the hypnagogic state) or just before fully awakening from sleep (the hypnopompic state).

The paralysis may last only a few seconds.

The description of the symptoms of sleep paralysis is similar to the description many Ghost encounters or alien abductees give in recounting their abduction experiences and also other delusions involving other paranormal or supernatural experiences.

Sleep paralysis is something many people experience once or twice in a lifetime but it is a frequent occurrence of those suffering from narcolepsy.

Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal.

If you believe one set of claims, nearly four million Americans have been abducted by aliens.

This figure has been widely publicized and is often assumed to mean that millions of people have been visited by members of an alien species and, in some cases, physically taken from their beds, cars, or homes to an alien craft or planet.

The question is.... Have these people really been abducted BY ALIENS FROM ANOTHER PLANET!!??

Like Carl Sagan put it..."Whith all these millions abductions world wide, Im surprised the neighbours havent notices anything".

The alternative is that they simply have had a number of interesting psychological experiences, the most obviously relevant being sleep paralysis.

i've had those experiences. i looked it up and pushed it off as sleep paralysis. over the past months, however, i've had some weird experiences to suggest otherwise. i woke up one night and the kleenex box by my bed was floating a couple of feet off the bedside table. another night, i remember seeing something weird and chasing it. i tackled it by my chair, but when i did, i had no memory of what i was chasing. there are nights when i'll get a good nine hours of sleep, but when i wake up, i'll feel like i got 20 minutes of sleep.

Re: ABDUCTED BY ALIENS... Or ...Sleep Paralysis???
I remember a very Lucid dream I had once when I was like 7 or 8 years old.

It started were I was living, my parents old apartment. I walked into the bedroom to grab a drink that was sitting on the bedstand. But when I got to the drink I was frozen with fear. I felt totally awashed with terror from head to toe and could not move. I felt eye's on my back from behind me. There was something in the closet behind me and I was convinced that it was a Witch.

I was so scared I felt totally terrorized and I could not even turn around to leave the room... I remember it lasting for an agonizingly long time before the "spell broke" and I ran out of the room.

Sleep Paralysis I think is just a deep level of sleep where you are in a trance like state, you cant move your body and some people report electric shock like feelings.

About the same time that I had the witch dream I used to dream about flying alot. The one I remember the most is flying down the stairs in my old house.

The sleep paralysis theory is good in principle but I dont think it can be applied to alot of the cases of abduction.
Its very fascinating just the same.

People underestimate just how real lucid episodes can be.. i think just about all of the alien abduction cases where people are in their beds are lucid encounters, or sleep paralysis..

when your on the edge of sleep, you can hallucinate very easily and wildly. hynagogic is the term i think.

it makes no sense either.. why would they come into your room to "abduct" you.. what makes you think your so special taht aliens want to probe you? lol.

encounters which have happened when people are awake and outside im more inclined too believe, but when people are in their beds.. they probably think its real, but obviously don't know about lucid dreaming, borderline sleep hallucinations. OBE's etc..

I've been through these experiences too.. very very scary!!! you cannot move.. just your eye-lids. I've felt a weight on me & a tightening in my belly. At one stage I felt like my feet had been grabbed up, & I was being pulled. Couldn't believe it. It happened a few times, inc: seeing tiny 'out of sight' lights in the room. Didn't know what to make of it..?! I certainly felt a presence in the room. All I could do was go back to sleep. Felt fine when i woke up. A real mystery..

I have about 2 or 3 experiences a year, they are very realistic and I could certainly see how you could think alien abduction or demonic presence

Scary stuff.

Alien abduction you can scoff away as weirdos... but everyone has nightmares. One of my children had what they told us were "night terrors" very difficult to watch.

I have experience in this, only x3 though. First time I struggled, no go and I remember nothing. Last couple, a fast/simple 'jesus have mercy on my soul' woke me immediately w/full functions.

No lie.

Re: ABDUCTED BY ALIENS... Or ...Sleep Paralysis???
My senior year of high school this happened to me over and over again. There was a dark figure at the foot of my bed looking down at me. I was awake, I could see the room, everything about it but I couldn't move or scream. I wanted to and tried to call for help, but no words came out, it seemed only a whisper was all I could muster. The figure at my feet would grab tightly at my legs and pull, I was terrified. It got so bad I was afraid to fall asleep every night. I talked to a friend. He told me to confront this "thing" and tell it to "Fuck off", I did and never saw/experienced it again. What ever this condition is would scare anyone, you really feel that you are awake and in real danger, your eyes are functioning, your body is not. Scary shit.

You are experiencing an abduction or a visit. I've had several. Luckily, nothing floating by my bed. I'm not able to move when it's happening. Have you checked yourself for implant marks? That's how I knew I wasn't just experiencing sleep paralysis. I woke up with marks. And yes, you do feel really groggy for the rest of the day!

I had one episode 2 days ago; while paralyzed, I managed to move my head to the right and I saw a man standing wearing a police or security guard uniform, very clean cut with a cap and badges... he disappeared when I broke free.

When you wake up paralyzed, you're not really awake. You're still asleep, but you swear you're not. That explains why you see and hear weird shit. I know this first hand, having woken up during sleep paralysis, only to think I was just awake.

As for aliens, if they're abducting, they aren't from this dimension if they're using this paralysis to abduct people.

I don't know why. It just is. You're not awake, though. I know, it's hard to believe, but I've woken up too many times during/immediately after an experience to believe it is anything but. It really does seem like you're awake, but you're not. If you think about it, though, even your waking hours are no more than a dream, a construct your mind creates, so it's not that hard to believe.

My thought is that I find it exceedingly strange that the leading expert on the subject - Dr. John Mack, former professor of psychiatry at the Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School, suddenly became so careless that he got run down by a drunk driver and was killed.

Re: ABDUCTED BY ALIENS... Or ...Sleep Paralysis???
I have had many experiences w/sleep paralysis. At times I thought it was a skin walker. Then I figured out it was my spirit guide, and welcome him to my dreams.
I am a very lucid dreamer. This dream I had the other night was incredible. I dreamt I was a queen angel fish and I was so beautiful, I was being held in a pair of hands and loved and it felt so comfortable and good. I saw the ocean right next to me, all he had to do was put me back in the ocean because he was killing me by keeping me out of the ocean. The ocean was the most beautiful blue. I could see my fish home on the sandy bottom and all the other tropical fish swimming there. I woke up because my room was vibrating and the walls were moaning. My 2 dogs even jumped out and ran thru the doggy door barking. It was very strange.

hello! my thought (or p.t., personal theory, I will repeat on GLP)

ok, here we go.

ALIENS do NOT excist

why not

1. product of Hollywood
2. people in the 60's and 70's used a lot of illicit drugs and their fantasies run wild, very much paranoia into this world
3. JFK murdered, for ushering in space technology age, by a group who though controlling the huge large and dumb crowd with 1. theories about aliens, 2. hard-drugs e.g. cocaine and heroine 3. wars .... to stay in Power, by the mean means of FEAR an perversion

whenever I think of aliens or et's I say; 'if they would excist please, me member of humanity, let me make them proud, oh dear ignorant self me'

I have seen 'ufo's' though, but I reckon they are advanced flying objects our governments do not wish to talk about.

Sleep paralysis is a logical explanation. why?

you'd be amazed what kind of fanatasies go into the mind when asleep. and if you have marks or 'implants' that was just you scratching or bumping yerself from sleep walking?

One morning I woke up, got out of bed, walked to the front door and put my hand on the doorknob to open it. My hand went right through the doorknob then the door, and it was so startling that I woke up from my dream. I've always wondered if it was really a dream or if I'd left my body.

I've read a couple books about abductions. Some cases might be sleep paralysis, others don't fit the diagnosis.

Having had one of each; Sleep paralysis (and what I believe to be) an Experience, here's my take:

In my recent sleep paralysis-state I woke up KNOWING what was happening. I knew I had control and power to 'wake up fully'.

Unlike, when I experienced a paralysis and was totally paralyzed in 1997 feeling so powerless and absolutely scared to death and KNOWING, something definitely isn't right!

So in a way, I am 'lucky' (for lack of a better word) to have had both and to know the difference.
Big difference!

Re: ABDUCTED BY ALIENS... Or ...Sleep Paralysis???
Sleep paralysis is a truly LAME explanation for many of the abductions by the visiting ( or invading ) aliens.

Sleep paralysis does NOT explain:

- why so many have seen the same TYPE of aliens, with the same themes of them probing anuses, and surgically removing sperm and ova, and especially the unusually large slanted black eyes.

- why many people are NOT abducted in bed, but were in fact DRIVING at the time

- why people are sometimes abducted WITH observing witnesses present( as in Travis Walton ), whose story has never been refuted, and his buddies have never recanted

- why people are sometimes returned to the place of abduction with their clothes inside out, as though aliens unfamiliar with Earthly clothing design thought it didn't matter

- why Betty Hill mentioned the aliens' apparent fascination with her zippered dress, because they had NEVER SEEN A ZIPPER BEFORE.

- why they were also intrigued with Barney Hill's false teeth, again new, TO THEM.

- why when abducted people are trying to recall what happened during their "missing time" they often say, "THEY don't want me to remember"

Do NOT trivialize the abduction experiences of all these people by stating they imagined the whole thing.

The TRUTH of what aliens want from us is probably a lot more scary than just "visiting", but nevertheless, I would prefer to know the truth whatever it may be, than have my government lie to me about it.

I posted above this last one and s/he is correct!

My 1997 paralysis DID include seeing alien-faces prior to finding myself paralyzed in bed. I didn’t want to mention it because it wasn’t pertinent to the topic but...

First....I saw the ‘faces’ around 1AM
Woke up frozen-like in my bed (except for my eyes) at around 3AM
Finally arose out of bed around 7AM feeling very ill, like I needed to throw up.

So I knew something extraordinary happened but still did not connect all the dots until later that week.

And not knowing how ‘important’ that night was, I wasn’t using it as a reference point, but that year (maybe that same night, maybe within that week or later that month?) but shortly after that event, I found 12 circle-like bruises on both my arms. I still to this day have them. They look as if someone grabbed me very hard.

I don’t want to segue off topic with all of that, but there is a CLEAR and distinct difference between an Experience which includes sleep paralysis and the ‘normal-common’ sleep paralysis.

Remember I had BOTH! (still really not sure what happened back in 1997 but it’s changed my life, completely. )
