It is NOT a star of any kind. And coward is right there are several of these objects. Two appearing around 8-9PM and the brightest one is clearly seen in the early hours in the morning, around 6-6AM in the Eastern NY Sky. I've managed to take a very hi-res pics of these thing with the telephoto lens on Nikon D90. When I magnified that, I could NOT believe what I saw!!!
