It is not even money. Money is legal tender that is backed by something that has intrinsic value. What we have now is nothing more than a consensus or belief system.

Once people lose faith or the "money" loses credibility then it is game over. We are in the early stages of this loss of faith.

money and materialism by themselves are not at fault, it is the human intention behind them that creates division and evil greed. Money and materialism can be used for great good - for example the fine and rich tradition you have in your great land for philanthrophy. Bill and Melinda Gates being perfect examples and Warren Buffett another. Don't knock materialism as it is just a tool of the capitalist corporatocratic project. I think our only hope is to place our faith on something else. Money has become god. I find it suffocating. It is like a virulent madness. This hunger and first for more, for money and more money, and ..I wonder how much they have, have they more than us? I want more than they have and if I havent then Ill pretend I have... Absolutely insane and pathetic.

And we pay taxes, and more taxes, or else. And where does our money go?

I just cant understand it. Am I alone? I mention it to my friends that we are in a prison. It just doesnt seem to sink in, and along they run trying to make more, or keep from sinking, whatever.

I am doing that. You say that the money will follow, I dont know what to answer, I suppose great! but the truth is that I want something else. I want a change in general. I suppose money in itself isnt the problem, its our attitude towrds money, this divinization of it. Like Gollum with his Precious thats today society towards wealth. Maybe Tolkien was telling us much more than might seem. The ring that all want to have, the precious ring, that destroys its keeper, taking away all the values and attributes that make him a decent being, turning him into something vile, just to have it. I dont know what is happening. I just see things so different now. It just seems so absurd. Not creation, nature ,the world, no that is wonderful. I love what I do and am constantly having to fight seriously to keep people from ripping me off. I am amazed at acriminal business is. In the past month i have had to challenge almost all invoices as people are seriously trying to rip me off. The biggest theives lately have been county governments. I am amazed at the level of thievery

I have several Skills:

Gardening, tending my parents farm, driving vehicals, reading/translating and writing skills, I play drum, guitar and keyboard, can entertain e.g. children, football and other play, I have a universitairy degree et cetera

I sometimes help out neighbours, acquintances and friends and family. And wish to trade for food and drinks (e.g. whisky) and gifts I can use such as incense.

there are unfortunately some things I and my parents need money for,,,,, this Internet connection for textample.



Unfortunately, leeches, who never work, with their Hands nor Just mind, make a luxerous living by a fake economic system and yes ..... paper ...... money ...... and invaluable coins ...... they sometimes put their heads on the coins such as our quote unquote Queen Beatrix of the Republic of the Netherlands.

No it wasn't at least where I come from (not the US ).
Used to be that people just regarded money as a kind of necessary evil, as a means of exchange for goods or services.
My dad and I were talking about it recently and he told me that when he first got married he only had one pair of trousers, they got ripped, my mother sewed them up and he wore them for another two years.
I'm the same-a few pairs of old durable trousers that I keep clean, but no expensive brand names.
It changed in the 1980's as far as I can tell.
Now people are bottomlessly greedy and dishonest.
I've got my own business, and it's a drag because I really have to watch out for theft, constantly.
It is insane.
