Then they said it came down because of raging fires... again, recently-revealed videos show just a few tiny fires.

The best part was Maher expected the applause sign to kick on, but it didn't. And the audience was totally silent (I suppose they know the truth, too).

Actually, the only person not silent was another wearechange truther asking Maher to explain Building #7.

Unfortuantely, they're compromised, too.

For example, if you try to post a comment about faked video (and no planes) on 9/11, you're going to get your comments buried.

The Loose Change forum is even worse... they ban you for asking about faked videos.

I'm 99.99% sure there were no planes on 9/11 (and no, I don't believe in Holograms).

Now whether or not your believe in video fakery is one thing... but when you're banned for simply asking about it tells me everything I need to know.

1. Dummy up. If it's not reported, if it's not news, it didn't happen.

2. Wax indignant. This is also known as the "How dare you?" gambit.

3. Characterize the charges as "rumors" or, better yet, "wild rumors." If, in spite of the news blackout, the public is still able to learn about the suspicious facts, it can only be through "rumors." (If they tend to believe the "rumors" it must be because they are simply "paranoid" or "hysterical.")

4. Knock down straw men. Deal only with the weakest aspects of the weakest charges. Even better, create your own straw men. Make up wild rumors (or plant false stories) and give them lead play when you appear to debunk all the charges, real and fanciful alike.

5. Call the skeptics names like "conspiracy theorist," "nutcase," "ranter," "kook," "crackpot," and, of course, "rumor monger."
