The PKK announced it would observe a cease-fire starting Tuesday, an Iraqi Kurdish lawmaker told CNN. However, the rebels denied that claim. In a report from The Associated Press, the rebels said a cease-fire they declared in June was still in place.

The Turkish troop movements seem real enough, the CNN story said 60,000 troops, the OP's link said 100,000 troops amassed at the border. Either way, I'll bet that would give the Kurds reason to pause and reflect.

the problem is that if the turks invade the pkk's kurdish brothers that are not part of the pkk will join their brothers in the fight.
