disney is a big republican supporter.hmmmmmm. of course the christian right are usually pretty bent people anyway.

Disney never was a christian based empire anyway...he capitalized on fables and myths...witches, dwarves, talking trees, humanist themes. Instead of praying to God for your needs all you need to do is 'wish upon a star'.

In and of that, I don't care...it is so much milder than anything we are exposed to in films and television, and if it is an issue for you then it makes a good subject to teach your kids what you believe verses what the world is trying to indoctrinate them with.

This whole thread....talk about reaching....I'm more concerned with the fact that my little niece watches Disney and wants to be a princess, than I am about anything interpreted by others as satanic, and that's all it is you know, your interpretation.

I get frustrated with the type of role models sold to impressionalbe little girls. It's always some poor vitimized young woman, she always has some negative female role model who's out to get her and the best she can hope for, is that some day a guy is going to jump on a horse and come rescue her from her horrible life.

What is that teaching young girls about expectations as a young woman? Shouldn't she be able to rescue herself and make her own choices? Why does she always need a prince to save her? That's the kind of weird programming I worry about.

If I had to pick Disney movies I find disturbing, I would pick Bambi and Dumbo. Bambi scarred me for life
and as a child I was always terrified something would happen to my mother, same issue with Dumbo. My sister will not let my niece watch either of these movies for that reason alone.

My favorite though, is still Fantasia. Wish I had it on DVD!

Most disney characters have a broken family. Never a normal mom AND dad, and usually some tragedy, always dysfunctional but seemingly normal, advertising the normality of not really having a family.

A number of years ago I saw a Betty Boop cartoon that showed her private part. It was inserted for one frame only. Max Fleischer studios from what I read were smoke driven. ;)

Pippi lives in her own house with a monkey and a horse. She has supernatural powers. She doesn't go to school although she is smarter than all other kids. She has no respect for authority like teachers and the police etc etc.

Well, that is just good story material.

You must create tension in some way, a normal person in extraordinary situations, or an extraordinary person struggling with normal situations.

One only has to look at Disney's Mouseketeers, such as Britney Spears, to understand the depth of depravity Disney produces.

Another example: Walt was instructed to clean up Werhner von Braun's Nazi past (10,000 dead in London alone from von Braun's V1 and V2 onslaught) and out came the 'space' movies in the '50s and '60s promoting the now 'good' Dr. von Braun as a space visionary. It worked. $600 billion later (in 1960's dollars) - and we walked on the moon (well, even THAT'S up for debate).

All you have to do look past the public relation BS and you'll find satanism everywhere with Disney.

And we wonder why our children are the way they are - with the Princess sex programming (girls) and the Jedi Warrior
programming (boys).

But Disney isn't the only one....just the most heavily (visually) promoted.
