Went outside last night around 1am to see it in the eastern US, and even with a strangely bright moon, it was clearly visible and brighter then the north star. Looked like a really wierd big brown star to me |

After 3 days of continuous thick cloud cover i can finally see it.
To the right and south of the moon, Virtually dew south of the middle star orions belt..allowing for the tilt from the top star in its crown.
Through binoculars it now appears red. |

sorry girl, glad you weren't on my case about it. i'm a bit touchy. i saw it again last nite, it has changed location. i knew for sure then that the hubble thing was something they had thrown out there to explain a strange thing in the sky. which has some serious implications combined with the lack of news coming from the gov't about the "comet" i'm sure they are somehow related. look to the north and west tonight people, if it's still up there, and i bet it will be, you will see it right away, very bright and flashing with blue and red lights, its been there since the 25th that i know of and has moved 3 times now. Since we are at different locations, hopefully we can get a few to find this and we can then triangulate and figure just how far away it is...ie in our orbit or out in space somewhere.
I have seen blinky ones lately. But since I am no expert on twinkling stars and their locations I really wouldn't know if what I was seeing was normal or not.
Just had another thought, we need to get Gridkeeper in here. He could get video of the 'comet' and perhaps zoom in and find out what this Hubble impostor is.

I saw it too last night driving home. It was a bright light on the horizon roughly north north east at about 30 degrees above the horizon. It then passed over head, and thinking it was a cool satellite, I stopped and got out to look (roads empty where I live) I stood slack jawed as it did a 90 degrees turn, and proceeded east.
What ever it was, it was no satellite and thats for certain. |
