Harnessing the power of the unconscious - Dreams - Premonitions - Prophecies

In one of my previous posts about Snake Dreams someone responded with :

“Snakes are ANIMALS. I think they are wonderful & interesting animals, as do so many other people, but they are still animals.
They don't "represent" anything. They are snakes. You can decide to project your ideas & fears upon them -- as so many civilizations have done -- but that doesn't make a snake anything more than a snake.”

Dreams - premonitions - intuition - Synchronicity are actually one of the closest forms of communication we can get with God /Cosmic Spirit. Dreams are mentioned throughout the bible and many great men and women throughout history have had prophetic dreams and premonitions. There are too many instances for me to mention here in one post so I am going to add a little everyday. I have had an amazing number of synchronistic events lately - that are opening up a whole new spectrum of thought for me - synchronistic events that have inevitably led to my being introduced to some very important people. The odds of these events being a coincidence are too high - the events have been nothing short of amazing. I feel like I am in a matrix and hundreds of doors are flying open all at once. It is frightening and exhilarating all at the same time. Is there a key to unlock the power of the unconscious. I believe so. Throughout this thread I will add a little information everyday. There will be hidden clues throughout the text - I will not answer people directly - I believe it is important for people to get insights on their own. It will then become your own personal revelation. There is no doubt the world is in a huge crisis and people must start preparing themselves for the day of reckoning. Our path is now set - our destination inevitable. Is there a key that can save humanity ??? There certainly is a key that can save you.

9/11 - Attack on America

I read many people had dreams - premonitions about this event - they just did not recognise it at the time.

A few weeks before the 9/11 attack I had the most vivid and terrifying nightmare. In the dream I was in a huge building - quite high up. Terrorists had taken our floor over. They forced all the men into another room. The group of women suddenly stared at the window in disbelief as a plane flew towards the window. I remember thinking Oh my God why is a plane flying so low ??? I knew it was going to crash and woke up just prior to it happening.

I copied this from another site - Someone else's vision

A few days before the attack I had a nightmare. I woke up in a sweat and told my husband about it. In the dream I was running down a city street I could see the tall buildings all around me, I was passing parked cars and I could hear people all around me screaming as they ran along with me. I looked back and I could see the debris and dust cloud gaining on me and I thought that if I ditched under one of the parked cars that I could somehow avoid getting hit by the larger stuff that was being carried along in the cloud. I covered my face once under a car and remember feeling like I was choking. End of the dream. The next few weeks as the 911 footage played on TV I relived that dream over and over as I watched the big clouds of dust and debris move down the street. The closest thing to the dream I could describe to my husband up until 911 was that it was so much like that scene from the movie Independence Day. It was so strange to have seen this before it happened.

Re: Harnessing the power of the unconscious - Dreams - Premonitions -Prophecies
Freud is quoted in the Times article: "Freud notes, 'writers of antiquity who preceded Aristotle did not regard the dream as a product of the dreaming psyche, but as an inspiration of divine origin.

Glimpses of the future are far more common than most people realize, and seem most often (although not exclusively) to come in dreams.
For instance, J. W. Dunne's book "An Experiment with Time" was written in 1927 about his own dreams about the future (precognitive dreams), and his informal experiments with his friends to see if everyone might have these future glimpses, which he called "future day residue" after Freud's term "day residue". Dunne found that dreams about future events were common in the dreams of people who wrote their dreams down and looked for future correspondences. He hypothesized that there was usually emotional resistance in people to the concept of seeing the future that tended to prevent the recognition of the relationship between dreams and future events. In some other cultures, the idea that dreams might foretell the future is more accepted than it is in our society, although the interpretation of the meaning of these instances may vary

More dreams about 9/11

I have many psychic dreams. My most scary psychic dream was of 9/11. It is so close to the facts that many people simply can not believe it. I have a piece of paper where I wrote down 2 things upon waking: the date of the dream and around 200 days. I had my dream on March 2, 2001. The first thing that happened was an intense shaking in a major city. It looked like New York but it was hard to tell. Suddenly a huge plum of smoke came out of nowhere and people were running down the street. People were shouting and very scared. I was watching out a window or on a tv screen. I was scared but was far removed from the actual situation. A voice stated that in around 200 days this will happen. I have calculated many times and it was 192 days between March 2 and September 11. This to date is my most accurate dream or prediction. I do not go around talking about these things because they scare me. In my dream I did not see any planes because my view was at street level. By the way, at the end of the dream 3 buildings had collapsed, which is how many buildings actually fell in the attacks.

The morning of the catastrophe I awakened remembering a strange dream I had during the night. I dreamed that I was a teacher standing before my class, pointing to a picture of two tall flaming, smoking buildings with a circle of burning rubble next to them. I remember telling the class it was a lesson from the Bible or Roman history. I told them, that the picture represented two cities on fire and my question was for them to name the two cities in the picture. No one answered. I woke up and sat down to breakfast, my family was watching the burning of the twin towers and then the burning of the pentagon (round circle of my dream) ties burning. I found my answer.

There are just too many to list but this site is intereseting as well:

BACKPACKER MURDERS - AUSTRALIA

Belanglo State Forest

The term Backpacker murders specifically refers to the seven murders for which Ivan Milat was convicted. There is some speculation that Milat may have committed up to thirty more killings, but this has never been determined
While aspects of each murder were similar, each murder had been committed somewhat differently. The killer had evidently spent considerable time with the victims both during and after murdering them, as campsites were discovered close to the location of each body and shell casings of the same calibre were also identified at each site. However, no two victims had been slain the same way. Joanne Walters and Simone Schmidt, for example, had been stabbed whereas Caroline Clarke had been shot numerous times in the head and stabbed post mortem. Anja Habscheid had been decapitated and other victims showed signs of strangulation and severe beatings. Speculation arose that the crimes were the work of several killers, at least two, and Ivan Milat's sworn statement had suggested anywhere up to seven people were involved.

On 13 November, police received a call from Paul Onions in Britain. Onions had been backpacking in Australia several years before and had accepted a ride south out of Sydney from a man known only as "Bill" on January 25, 1990. South of the town of Mittagong, New South Wales, Onions who managed to escape, flagged down a passing motorist Joanne Berry and reported the assault to local police. Onions' statement was backed up by one from Berry, who also contacted the investigation, along with the girlfriend of a man who worked with Ivan Milat, who thought he should be questioned over the case. Paul Onions was the only victim of Milat's to survive and said in an interview his intuition was telling him something was terribly wrong. He could not work out why he was feeling so uncomfortable in the company of Milat and intially put it down to paranoia - later he said his fears increased and that was when he decided to try and escape from Milat.

Well actually I am Catholic. I am not in any Satanic Order lol how ridiculous. I consider myself a spiritual person of the world - that has studied and respects all religions - new and old. I believe religious texts have been manipulated by the hierarchy for politically motivated reasons since the beginning of time. I have deleted the text because it is just not worth getting into arguments with people that have been brainwashed. Do you know what the text truly means. .Do not believe all you read. Have you ever even studied ancient religions - native religions ??? And if you did study them did you do so with an open mind. The Emerald Tablet is an ancient artifact that reveals a profound spiritual technology, which has survived to this day despite centuries of effort to suppress it. Encoded within the tablet's mysterious wording is a powerful formula that works in very specific and comprehensible steps on all levels of reality at once -- the physical, the mental, and the spiritual -- and shows us how to achieve personal transformation. The source of alchemy and the Hermetic sciences, the tablet's universal approach made it forbidden knowledge, condemned by patriarchal powers for thousands of years, from the Egyptian priesthood, to the medieval Church, to our modern politicians and religious leaders. To ensure the survival of such "dangerous" principles, which guide people to higher states of consciousness, the ancients concealed their knowledge in a succinct declaration that has become a time capsule of wisdom for future generations.

Molded out of a single piece of green crystal, the Emerald Tablet carries a prophetic message full of hidden meaning. Although its true origin is lost in legends that go back over 10,000 years, the wondrous artifact was translated into Greek by Alexandrian scholars and actually put on display in Egypt in 330 BC. Around the year 400 AD, it was reportedly buried somewhere on the Giza plateau to protect it from religious zealots who were burning libraries around the world at that time. Many believe the tablet still lies hidden there.
The alchemists which really were just ancient scientists used these diagrams like Eastern mandalas and meditated on them in their laboratories to achieve altered states of consciousness.
The uncredited source of many of the our mystical and religious traditions, the tablet also inspired over 3,500 years of alchemy, a period in which some of the most creative minds in the world delved into the intertwined mysteries of matter, energy, soul, and spirit. Most medieval alchemists had copies of the tablet hanging on their laboratory wall. It was the only guidance they needed in both their meditation and practical work; it served as their Rosetta Stone for deciphering the deliberately obscured terminology of their art.
As we enter the third millennium, the ancient formula is resurfacing in what people perceive as mystical or paranormal events. Such experiences are in fact simply the continuing expressions of the underlying alchemy of our lives. For many decades, knowledge of this hidden pattern has been discussed only among an elite group of esoteric scholars, but now, this amazing science of soul is available to everyone. For those with the courage to see beyond the illusions handed down to us by blind tradition, the Emerald Tablet's formula offers a way to reinstate our rightful relationship with the universe.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Re: Harnessing the power of the unconscious - Dreams - Premonitions -Prophecies
"Sometimes dreams are wiser than waking"
- Black Elk -
holy man of the Oglala Lakota Sioux

In early October 1966, a ten-year-old Welsh schoolgirl named Eryl Mai Jones had something important to tell her mother.
"Mummy," she said, "I'm not afraid to die."
"You're too young to be talking about dying," her mother said. "Do you want a lollipop?"
On October 20, Eryl Mai woke up after having a memorable dream.
"Mummy, let me tell you about my dream last night," she said.
"Darling, I've no time now. Tell me again later."
"No, Mummy, you must listen," she said. "I dreamt I went to school and there was no school there. Something black had come down all over it.,,
Her mother thought nothing more about the dream. After all, they lived in Aberfan, Wales, a poor coal-mining town. Perched high on a hill overlooking Aberfan was a coal tip, where waste from the mining process was dumped. The Aberfan coal tip caused many residents of the town to worry for their safety. So when Eryl Mai's mother heard her dream, she may have concluded that her fear of the ever-present coal tip had provoked it.
Eryl Mai went off to Pantglas Junior School that day as usual. Nothing unusual happened. The next day, Friday, October 21, she did the same. But at 9:15 that morning, the coal tip gave way, sending tons of coal sludge, water, and boulders to the village below. The avalanche mowed down everything in its path, including stone houses and trees, and swept toward the Pantglas School, where it crushed the back of the school.
In all, 144 people were killed, most of them children at the school. Eryl Mai Jones was one of the victims.
Had her dream provided a glimpse of a tragedy in the future? Or was it merely a coincidence? Dr. John Barker, a psychiatrist in a nearby town, was curious to discover if anyone had had a precognitive dream or vision about the Aberfan disaster. He persuaded a newspaper to run an article asking people to send in a written account of any precognitive experience related to Aberfan. Altogether, he received seventy-six letters, but many seemed too vague to have anything to do with Aberfan. He selected the cases that seemed believable. Then he made sure to ask each correspondent to supply him with the names-and addresses of anyone who knew the details of the dream or vision before the disaster had occurred. Only by asking friends and family of the correspondent for confirmation could Barker be sure that the correspondents were telling the truth.
Eryl Mai's experience came to light through Barker's appeal for precognitive cases. Although she was the only schoolchild in Aberfan to have a future vision, she wasn't alone in her precognitive experience. However, most of those who wrote had never heard of Aberfan, didn't live near it, and had no connection to it in any way.
One woman, Carolyn Miller, had a vision of the disaster on the evening of October 20. In her mind she saw
an old school house nestling in a valley, then a Welsh miner, then an avalanche of coal hurtling down a Mountainside. At the bottom of this mountain of hurtling coal was a little boy with a long fringe looking absolutely terrified to death. Then for a while I "saw" rescue operations taking place. I had an- impression that the little boy was left behind and saved. He looked so grief-stricken. I could never forget him, and also with him was one of the rescue workers wearing an unusual peaked cap.
She met with some women from her church that night and shared her vision with them. She also told a neighbour the next morning at 8:30 what she had seen. She was stunned to hear about the disaster, but even stranger is what she saw while watching television two days later. That night she was watching a program about the Aberfan tragedy when she saw both the terrified boy from her vision and the rescuer.
This raises the question: Did she have a vision of the Aberfan tragedy or of the television program that summarized it? It may well be the latter.
Another precognitive experience related to Aberfan was related by Mary Hennessy. She wrote Dr. Barker to say that she had dreamed about Aberfan the night before the tragedy. In her dream, there were a lot of children in two rooms. Eventually, they moved to a larger room, where they seemed to be playing in small groups.
At the end of the room there were long pieces of wood or wooden bars. The children were trying somehow to get over the top or through the bars. I tried to warn someone by calling out, but before I could do so one little child just slipped out of sight. I myself was ... watching from the corridor. The next thing in my dream was hundreds of people all running to the same place. The look on people's faces were terrible. Some were crying and others holding handkerchiefs to their faces. It frightened me so much that it woke me up.
The dream was so vivid and terrifying she was worried that it meant harm would come to her two young grandchildren. Early the next morning, she called her son and daughter-in-law at 8:45 and explained her dream.
"I am very worried because the dream was about children. It makes me think about the girls," she said, referring to her granddaughters. "I know I dreamed about schoolchildren, but just take special care of them, please?"
Despite the large number of precognitive experiences related to the Aberfan disaster, however, no one's vision or dream provided enough details to have prevented the tragedy.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

The Bible is full of dream stories as are other ancient cultural beliefs. Bible refers to some of it's characters as "being taken up in Spirit" - Conscious ...

Accidents and disasters are an unfortunate fact of life. Because disasters affect so many people, they have been intensely studied. However, every time a disaster occurs, the same questions are raised. How could this have happened? Could it have been prevented? Why do some people survive and others do not? Is there really such a thing as a random accident, or is there a hidden meaning to each disaster?

Of course, disasters are thoroughly investigated. And often, an in-depth investigation will reveal a hidden side to disasters. However, there is one aspect of disasters that has been largely ignored. In virtually every major disaster, there are accounts of strange premonitions that predict the disaster.

If these premonitions are true, then some obvious questions are raised. Are these premonitions accurate? Who is having them? What is their purpose? Surely there must be a way we can harness the power of the human mind to help deal with these disasters.

Probably the great majority of premonitions are prophetic dreams predicting disaster. This is illustrated perfectly in the following case. In 1914, one hundred twenty Newfoundland sealers were abandoned on an ice-floe in the north Atlantic ocean during winter. Due to the incompetence of the ship's captain and others, the missing men were not noticed for two days and two nights. By the time they were rescued more than half were dead. It was the worst disaster to strike the Newfoundland sealing community in many years.

However, the disaster did not come without warning. One of the 55 survivors later told of a dream he had two weeks before the disaster. According to Cassie Brown's report on the disaster: "John Howlet had suffered a chilling nightmare weeks before. In his dream he was on a mountain of ice, lost and freezing. He was alone, terribly and frighteningly alone, but everywhere he wandered there were vague, indefinable 'things' on the ice around him-things with no particular shape that he could make out. He found himself walking among those things, unable to find his way, wondering what they were and dreading them. In his dream he was counting, counting, counting...He was still counting the white mounds when he awoke, shivering and terribly depressed."

Unfortunately, the dream was not enough for him to stop from joining the crew of the ship, Newfoundland, most of whom would be dead in a matter of days. And only afterwards was he to recognize the white mounds for what they were - bodies covered with snow.

Re: Harnessing the power of the unconscious - Dreams - Premonitions -Prophecies
Ideally, a premonition of a disaster should be used to prevent the disaster. The following case provides a good example of someone who was able to use their premonition positively.

On May 7, 1915, the British luxury liner Lusitania was sunk by a German torpedo, causing the death of nearly 1200 people. In many ways, the disaster was foreseeable. Firstly, there was a state of war between Germany and England. Secondly, several advertisements had been run in major US newspapers from the German Embassy warning that travellers crossing the Atlantic are doing so at their own risk.

Nevertheless, the over-riding public sentiment was that the Germans would never attack a passenger ship. Unfortunately, they were wrong, and many people suffered a watery death. Not surprisingly, there were some reported premonitions. One passenger, upon seeing the ship for the first time, became decidedly uneasy and concerned about her safety. Also, on the day before launch, the ship's mascot, a small black cat, abandoned ship, causing several crewman to remark it as a bad omen. However, the strongest premonition came from successful shoe dealer Edward Bowen of Boston, Massachusetts. Bowen had booked passage on the Lusitania, but on the day before sailing, became unaccountably concerned. He cancelled his passage. Later he told his friends, "A feeling grew upon me that something was going to happen to the Lusitania. I talked it over with Mrs. Bowen and we decided to cancel our passage - although I had an important business engagement in London." (Hoehling, pp. 31-32.)

Re: Harnessing the power of the unconscious - Dreams - Premonitions -Prophecies
The story of the Titanic is well-known. On April 14, 1912, the Titanic struck an iceberg and sunk in the North Atlantic, carrying with her more than 1500 lives. The lack of sufficient lifeboats has often been blamed as the leading cause of fatalities; however, experts will tell you that there were hundreds of causes leading to the accident including everything from faulty construction of watertight compartments to a failure to pay attention to numerous warnings of icebergs in the area. What's important here, however, are the huge numbers of premonitions that foretold this disaster.

Probably the first premonition came from author Morgan Robertson, who published a novel about a shipwreck in 1898. Although this was 14 years before the Titanic disaster, the novel, Futility seems to tell the exact disaster of the Titanic. The number of similarities go way beyond coincidence. In the novel, the ship was named Titan. It was the same size as Titanic, and carried the same number of passengers. In the novel, the ship also struck an iceberg in the north Atlantic in mid-April and sunk with the loss of over half the passengers due to insufficient lifeboats.

Another author, W.T. Stead, wrote numerous stories and articles predicting that a large ocean liner would sink with the loss of over half on board, again due to the lack of sufficient lifeboats. W. T. Stead was also interested in psychic mediums, and he recorded his visits with them. He received three separate warnings that can be easily linked to the Titanic disaster. One was that "travel would be dangerous in the month of April, 1912." Another told Stead that he would be involved "in the midst of a catastrophe on the water" involving the deaths of more than a thousand people. One clergyman, upon hearing about the building of the Titanic, was so moved by his own premonitions that he wrote to Stead predicting that the Titanic would sink. Despite all these warnings, Stead booked passage on the Titanic, and died in the disaster.

Several people went as far as to act on their premonitions and cancelled their passage. Second Engineer Colin MacDonald declined his position on the Titanic because of a "hunch" that disaster lay ahead. Even some of the rich and famous passengers felt something amiss. J.P. Morgan and Vanderbilt both cancelled their passage admitting to the superstitious fear of being on a ship's maiden voyage.

Another crewman received a warning but failed to act on it. Luigi Gatti, manager of the Titanic's controller's office, signed on the Titanic despite the fact that his wife was against the idea. She had a premonition about his job on the giant ship and "felt strange about it." One of the most dramatic premonitions occurred as the Titanic was steaming past the Isle of Wight. Hundreds of people lined the coast to watch the largest ship in the world. Among them was the Marshall family, who were initially delighted to see the massive ship. Then suddenly, Miss Marshall began to scream in horror: "It's going to sink! That ship is going to sink! Do something! Are you so blind that you are going to let them drown? Save them! Save them!"

One of the most dramatic cases of premonitions occurred during the final moments of the disaster. Major Archibald Gracie had been unable to find a place on the lifeboat and was plunged into the icy waters as the ship sank. As he says, "It was just then that the thought that this was my last moment came upon me. I wanted to convey the news of how I died to my loved ones at home. As I swam beneath the surface of the ocean, I prayed that my spirit could go to them and say, 'Good-bye, until we meet again in heaven.'...I thought that if I prayed hard enough that this, my last wish to communicate with my wife and daughter, might be granted.

Meanwhile, at that exact moment, hundreds of miles away in New York City, his wife had a sudden premonition. As Mrs. Gracie was, "I was in my room at my sister's house, where I was visiting, in New York. After retiring, being unable to rest I questioned myself several times over, wondering what it was that prevented the customary long and peaceful slumber, lately enjoyed. 'What is the matter?' I uttered. A voice in replay seemed to say, 'On your knees and pray.' Instantly, I literally obeyed with my prayer book in my hand, which by chance opened at the prayer, 'For those at Sea.' The thought then flashed through my mind, 'Archie is praying for me.'"

Miraculously, Major Gracie was able to make it on top of an overturned lifeboat and survived the disaster. Major Gracie feels that a number of remarkable coincidences allowed him to survive his ordeal.

Later, investigators were stunned by the huge number of premonitions, numbering to some accounts over fifty. However, more sceptical investigators, after discarding "vague forebodings" and "after the fact claims of prescience" came up with the still impressive figure of nineteen cases of precognition. Only the unreasonable sceptic could deny that there was some precognitive warnings of the disaster.
