It is rare, but due to how your dads blood type you can be O. O is the amorph for the ABO blood system. If on chromosome number 9 you have both AB inherited cis to one another you can type for AB. The other chromosome will either be A, B, or O. My guess is your dad is really (ABO)- so by simple science you inherited O from your dad and O from your mom. The way this was proven was female was type O and the father was AB. The child was AB so the child inherited AB from the dad and O from the mom.

My blood type tests as O+. But I have a weird thing with my blood. Usually O is the recessive gene, but shows up dominant with both me and my brother. Our O+ is from our mother. Our father was AB-. So we have either a hidden A or a hidden B, not sure which one.

Yes, we are very very sure that he is our father, so don't go there. I mean trust me, it's freakin obvious that he's our dad.

Punch in your parents blood types to see what the ONLY possible blood types your father could have produced in his children. O postive isn't on the list.

the way it is supposed to work is that the parent with the newest blood type will be the type the offspring have, since 0 is the oldest and AB is the newest you should have AB if your father has AB, for instance my father was an A and my mother was a B, when this happens you get AB, but since 0 is oldest the only way you could be 0 also is if your father was also an 0, any newer blood-type A,B, or AB, would over-ride the 0. sorry, pure science here.
