Yes, OP. Those that prepare will be the heroes, why wouldn't they be? I've been preparing for almost two years, but I have relaxed more through it all. There are much worse things than death. We never die and I do believe in a higher consciousness that I think we can all achieve and will.

I feel some truth to your words, but i do not think you understand what it is your meant to do yet.
I am being conditioned for a reason i also do not know.
I had a feeling for years that i should be doing something, but never understanding what.
lately those feelings have been curbed, but i have awakened in a highly spiritual nature and am encountering some interesting Phenomena. I am not religeous in the sense of the word.
But as these days go by, i become more enlightened and more focused in a spiritual sort of way.
I constantly have a breeze on my forehead, if anyone experiences this or knows what it is, i would love to hear from you?

Leading people to safety? No. I don't know where safety is. I wouldn't know where to even look for it. Family won't listen. They will suffer through plague and famine and pestilence and disease because they believe it's the will of god and to endure these sufferings is redemption in the eyes of the lord god almighty. Pffft.

I do agree with you that the rest need to stay alert and try to be prepared to help when the time comes. If it never does, oh well.

The truth is, we need not experience what we choose not to. We are each here to experience what's coming, but it's up to each of us to make that decision of "how long". You'll know. We do have a choice and always have had. All we have to do is ask from the heart for anything!
