Anonymous Coward User ID: 12207 United States 11/01/2007 11:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Iran's immediate goal is to deter the United States. Its long-term goal is clearly to project power beyond Iran, over Europe and over the United States. Iran is already projecting power over the entire Middle East. With its space program, Iran is bound to project power on a global scale. Obviously, the Iranians are overstating their capabilities as part of their psychological warfare. But behind this overstatement is a real capability - not as much as they claim, but not insignificant either. They have some real capability there, they are investing a lot of money in it, and it is growing with time. In 2006, the Iranian political leadership seems to have moved beyond the needs of self-defense and is now talking about global power projection. At a recent conference in Berlin, one of the deputies to Iran's foreign minister called upon the world to recognize that Islam comprises 25 percent of humanity and should occupy its rightful place in decision-making in world affairs and in the allocation of the world's resources. Statements like this are not about self-defense. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stated that Islam should roll back 300 years of Western ascendancy. He was speaking in the name of Islam, not in the name of Iran. At the same time, there is talk about the greatness of Iran, with its 6,000-year-old civilization. The Iranians are trying to retrieve the old glory of the empire and at the same time become the leaders of world Islam. The development of long-range missiles is a key element in building up Iran's power to assume such a leadership position. |

You obviously didn't major in history did you? Ooops, maybe I was misinterpreting your level of education. For those who actually wish to know. Russia under the czar had treaties with England and France prior to WWI and was attacking Germany in WWI prior to the Bolshevik revolution. With Russia out of the picture due to internal conflict sponsored by Jacob Schiff of Kuhn, Loeb & Co. (one of the USA federal reserve banks), Germany was free to concentrate on France. France's and England's fall would have sunk J.P. Morgan (US Federal Reserve) who had supported them. Obviously the germans would not have honored the debts of either after conquest. So the Lusitania incident was manufactured by getting American passengers to ride on a ship that was known to be carrying ordinance. The German Embassy took out ads in newspapers advertising the Cunard Lines Lusitania passage to England. In their ad the germans announced that they would sink the Lusitania because the Lusitania was a participant in the war. The US War Department (precursor to the DoD) asked newspapers along the Atlantic coast to pull the german ad. We know this because the War Dept missed the ad placed in the Des Moines Register. Thus the Lusitania incident and the US entry into the war to save England and France was manufactured. And the Fed banksters laughed all the way to the money trough. They had gotten all the Russian money out of the hands of the czar, and had Europe in debt for years. Later they would crash the American economy by shipping their gold to England - so that runs on banks would sink any potential competitors and lead to the great depression. Make everybody bankrupt and you can own it all, and they did. So, Sinanju, don't go asserting that your fantasies are true. |

As greatly as the people of Poland love the US, many Polish Americans warned their friends in Poland about what was happening. The twins were voted out by the people, and THEY were the ones who would have benefited from the deal, not the Polish people. Poland was being used. The USA barely talks about Poland. What help would we have given them if Russia had attacked them? Would we have had Laura Bell come on and wave her finger and tell Russia to play nicely??? Thank God Poland wised up before it was too late. |

Wants money for his "wars", but nothing spent in this country for the good of all. If He, or any other Prez wants to start a war..they should have to invoke a "WAR TAX" to pay for it instead of cutting back on infrastructure expenses. See how many wars get started then!! Money should be denied because. 1. The USA does not need it. 2. The system won't work, 3. It will cost a lot more because of the graft required by the Bush cronies. |
