Honey provides nutrients such as enzymes, etc.

Sugar does not.

Honey is a food product.

Sugar is not.

Honey is a natural antibiotic.

Sugar is not.

Don't get me started on the benefits of honey!!

banana

"In the study, 25 people were told to eat between four and 10 tablespoons of buckwheat honey, depending on their weight, each day for a month. They could eat the honey in almost any form, but it couldn't be baked or dissolved in tea. Many chose to eat straight from the spoon. Antioxidant levels rose in the participants. Antioxidants provide defense against free radicals, which cause cell damage"

I've been putting honey in my coffee for a long time, and look younger than my age.

Except all of those benefits are more aptly attributed to Raw Honey, and not Commercial, high grade Honey.

In fact, Honey heated to high temperatures (destroying most if not all trace nutrients and benevolent bacteria which constitute natural phenomena) is actually quite similar to High Fructose Corn Syrup, or so I've heard.

Commercial Honey is a waste of money, and won't help you at all.

Re: Whats the difference between Commercial Honey and White Sugar?
They don't call sugar "white death" for nothing...

Aside from the way it interferes with the natural production of insulin in the body and packs on the fat, the way most white sugar is manufactured is nasty. The manufacture of sugar from sugarcane juice is a process that involves a cocktail of chemicals.

Bone char, also known as 'bone black' or 'animal charcoal', is a granular black material produced by calcinating animal bones. This stuff is used to 'decolorize' sugar, making it white. Not all white sugar is processed in this way, but a lot is.

If you want a sugar alternative to white or honey, try your Indian grocery store. Jaggery (also called 'gur') is a natural sweetener made from concentrated sugarcane juice. It is a dark, coarse, unrefined sugar similar to a very hard-packaged brown sugar. Jaggery has a distinctive taste that's sweet and fruity, with a sharp edge like molasses. Jaggery is made without the use of any chemicals/ synthetic additives or preservatives. It contains an enormous wealth of minerals, protein and vitamins, and has great nutritional and medicinal value. Jaggery is low in calorie content, and is safe for use by diabetics.

Honey is great, too. But if you cook with it, don't heat it because you'll kill the best nutrients.
