Quoting: Anonymous Coward 327287No ...no ..thats not it ...this is just a mirror. Weird stuff. Man's symbiotic connection with the cosmos will be known and there is nothing which can stop that knowing. Because everything we all do everyday helps confirm that truth. It is just that we haven't reached the pinnacle of where it leads. But we will soon enough. We will either live or die with that knowledge. Between Heaven and Earth is us. Be brave young warriors in truth. [link to www.youtube.com] Only a miracle will save us now. All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident. Arthur Schopenhauer German philosopher (1788 - 1860) |

The mirror of which you speak was called the "True Face" mirror, or the "Real Image" mirror. They were marketed unsucessfully in the early 90's. While they sold for hundreds of dollars, you can experience the same effect using two mirrors held at an angle. It's too early (and I'm too caffiene-poor) to explain any better, you just need to grab two nice-sized mirrors and spend some time with them. The image that you see is what other folks see, and it can be quite disconcerting. I've seen people break down into tears as their image of themselves is totally torn away. Anyways, that's what I know...might I ask why YOU are asking about this? Just curious... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 312404 United States 11/21/2007 03:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Look into the seam of the mirrors. Adjust the mirrors so you see a single non-duplicated image of your face. This is a "true" image. Notice anything different? Yep! Our faces are NOT really symmetrical. This is what others see you as. You actually see the right side of your face on your left and your left on your right - unlike a plane mirror. Now, have some fun with it. Raise you right hand to touch your right ear. It will amaze you at the psychological effect this has. The image actually raises the true right arm, not the mirror image "left" arm we are used to. Explanation? Each side is a reflection of a reflection. The left side is a reflection of the reflection from the right side. Cool, huh? The kids will love this. Another neat effect of this mirror is that you don't have to be in front of it. Place it at eye level and observe as you walk past it. You can ALWAYS see your image. It has about 160o vision area. Want more fun? Have a student, preferably a girl, apply some make-up while using this true mirror. She simply can't! Heck, I can't even touch my left ear! [link to www.darylscience.com] |
