Remember that show about home security, where two guys break into a house to show the owners how easy it could be done and afterwards, they install all this security stuff, then at a later date go back to test them. Bet it makes these guys think twice !!!!!!!! |

The bear stick is a Rem870 wing-master with slug barrel, collapsible stock with pistol grip loaded (always) with Buckshot, then Slug, buckshot then Slug. The Buckshot softens the target then the Slug hammers it home. Very effective. |

If there was justice, the Pasadena cops would have closed the Krispy Kreme box and done their jobs instead of taking more than 10 minutes to show up at a crime scene. But I suppose you would have just watched as your neighbor's house was robbed and said "gee, wish I coulda done more." As it is you are probably right, since now the law protects the criminals and prosecutes law-abiding citizens. |

AC 326217 - This guy probably overstepped his bounds on the use of deadly force off his own property, even by Texas legal standards - but this is another glaring example of why we in Texas are sick to fucking death of illegal Mexican immigrants sneaking into our state, sucking the social services system dry like leeches, and breaking into whatever they want to steal on a whim. Maybe if they have the fear of death as a consequence, they'll think twice the next time before going to clean out a hard working, tax paying, law abiding Texan? To repeat what others have said here, it's good neighbors that help prevent stuff like this from happening. I'd do the same for my neighbors, but I wouldn't have stayed on the 911 call so long. I would have reported it and if the PD hadn't shown up within 10 minutes I'd have gone hunting as well. If you're willing to intentionally trespass my private property you'd better be willing to pay with your life. I may fire a warning shot, but #2 will be a head shot. Make your choices wisely... |

Quoting: ^TrInItY^of that you can be sure Especially after this new law was enacted this year: Gov. Perry Signs Law Allowing Texans to Protect Themselves SB 378 Permits Texans to Use Deadly Force in Self Defense AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today signed into law Senate Bill 378, extending Texans’ rights to use deadly force for means of self-defense, without retreat, in their home, vehicle or workplace. The law takes effect Sept. 1, 2007. “The right to defend oneself from an imminent act of harm should not only be clearly defined in Texas law, but is intuitive to human nature,” said Gov. Perry. “Today, I am proud to sign the Castle Law which allows Texans to not only protect themselves from criminals, but to receive the protection of state law when circumstances dictate that they use deadly force. “I thank Senator Jeff Wentworth, Representative Joe Driver and the Texas Legislature for their dedication to ensuring Texans’ rights to self-defense.” In 1995, the Texas Legislature created an exception to a 1973 statute, which required a person to retreat in the face of a criminal attack. The exception allowed a person to use force without retreat when an intruder unlawfully entered their home. Senate Bill 378 extends a person’s right to stand their ground beyond the home to vehicles and workplaces, allowing the reasonable use of deadly force when an intruder is: * Committing certain violent crimes, such as murder or sexual assault, or is attempting to commit such crimes; * Unlawfully trying to enter a protected place; or * Unlawfully trying to remove a person from a protected place. The law also provides civil immunity for a person who lawfully uses deadly force in the above circumstances. The use of deadly force is not lawful when it is used to provoke or if a crime other than a Class C misdemeanor is committed by the victim. |

Most agree that the shooter will not get convicted of manslaughter or any other murder charge. Probably a couple of misdemeanor charges like disorderly conduct and discharging a weapon in a public place. Yes, I live in the "greater" Houston area. |

Use your head. infact Quoting: ^TrInItY^it is your responsibility as a citizen to try to stop a crime in progress he was attempting to make a citizens arrest... and rightfully defended himself.. no jury in texas will convict this man.. of that you can be sure Bullshit! Citizen's arrest? You're pulling shit from thin air man... He has a right to defend his property only with reasonable force. Mere trespassing, even under the insanity of 9.41-9.42 does not authorize deadly force. There is no doubt that his actions are not protected under the Texas statutes. Which is saying a lot since they are ridiculously broad. |
