I have read a couple of quotes from Steve who actually worked on the TWO-Micron All Star Survey stating that they never implied or suggested our sun is a part of Sagittarius Dwarf. What say ye on this point?

I have not had a chance to read all of your posts, but I seem to recall you saying or implying that either the earth will undergo a pole shift or that the solar system will begin swinging around to align itself with the plane of the Milky Wat galaxy, which will have similar consequences to a pole shift. Am I off-base here?

Greetings, greetings fellow star gazers. And have we ever got some goodies for you to kick off Christmas week. So mark these three dates on your calendar: December 22nd, 23rd and 24th. On December 22nd not only will an almost full Moon be at its very closest for the month but the 22nd is also the day of the winter solstice, the first day of winter. On the next day the 23rd the Moon is officially full and thus has the name Moon before Yule and will be the highest riding full Moon of any full Moon until December 26th of the year 2023. On top of which on December 24th the red planet Mars will be at its brightest and officially at opposition and up all night riding across the sky alongside both a full Moon. Let me show you.

Saturday December 22nd gets off with a bang because at 1:08 a.m. Eastern Standard Time or your local equivalent winter officially begins in the northern hemisphere because that is the precise moment of the winter solstice at which time the Sun will be at its farthest point south of the celestial equator which means that if you go out and watch the Sun rise on Saturday morning it will rise at the farthest point south of east for the entire year and will set at sunset at its farthest point south of west for the entire year. But that's not all that's happening on Saturday because 3 hours and 52 minutes later at 5 a.m. Eastern Standard Time you may want to go outside and look west at the Moon because at precisely that moment it will officially be at perigee which means that it will be at its closest to the Earth for the entire month, only 224,119 miles away which is 28,223 miles closer than it was when it was at apogee on Dec. 6. So don't be surprised if it looks a little bit bigger than usual.

But it gets even better because on Sunday Dec. 23rd if you go outside just after sunset and look east you will see an exquisite full Moon followed by the rouge gold planet Mars which right now is at its closest and brightest until 2016. And both Mars and the Moon will travel across the sky all night long side by side reaching their highest point between midnight and 1 a.m. And when I say highest point I mean highest because this full Moon will take the highest path of any full Moon across the sky until the year 2023. And Mars will take its highest path across the sky until the year 2040! Don't miss this please and if you have a small telescope take a look at Mars and the Moon any time of the night for even more fun. But if that's not enough on the next night Christmas eve, Dec. 24th Mars is officially at opposition which means that it is directly opposite the Sun as seen from Earth and is in the sky all the hours the Sun is not and at its very peak for viewing until the year 2016. Wow! So there you have it, on the 22nd the first day

There has been lots of talk about this date latley. I became interested in it some time ago now, other information has been pouring out, one after another that basically confirm that this will be an incredible event indeed.

A very remarkable planetary/galactic configuration occurs on December 23rd and 24th 2007. The configuration on December 23 — Mars, Earth, Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Galactic Centre — is shown in the graphic simulation linked below; it becomes even more remarkable in that it will be accompanied by the Full Moon (conjunct Mars) at about 2 a.m. on December 24 when a simultaneous Venus square Neptune occurs. It is even more remarkable in that the Pluto/Sun conjunction appears exactly on the Winter Solstice, just past conjunction with the Galactic Centre.

What is not shown is Pluto (which would be to Jupiter's right) Saturn, which follows down from Venus, and Uranus and Neptune. Saturn and Neptune form the cross's t-member. It is a 23/12 configuration. There will be a full moon on Dec. 23, 2007

This on its own is a miraculous event, An extremely rare occasion. The silence about its even existence is deafening.
There are people who i have spoke with who fact think that this is the misinterpreted story of the bible, related to the 3 days of darkness.
They think the Sun will be on the galactic cross and die and be reborn again after 3 days.
I do think that story is related, however as in the "on earth as it is in heaven" part.
i am not Christian, but i was aghast at the significance of celestial events.
The we have Comet Holmes. They say comets are the harbingers of great change.
If the galactic Cross and the amazing Comet Holmes was not enough to make me really sit up and take note, we have 2 more comets showing up that will be in our skies on the 23rd.

More interestingly, NASA have detected movement at our Polar plates. It is likely we will have a pole shift of some sort in the near furure. Im not a fan of Zetatalk and this does not mean Nancy is right, A pole shift has been spoken of by many people, some a lot earlier. It is the story weaved around it that is wrong.

astro.com might. I'm not sure. They have an ephemeris with many major and minor asteroids and constellations, so its worth a try.

A friend of mine told me because people build too much on the planet , time passes by much faster , coz of the quicker rotation of Mother Earth due to the people's building programs. You are not right. These conjunctions happen similarily every 26,000 years (approx) and is exactly like this as rare as once in every 101,000 years (approx).. With the 3 comets in the Solar System as well, one can begin to grasp the significance and specialness of these coming conjunctions.
